Smoltek’s technology assessment is further expanded

The Swedish nanotechnology company announces that the agreement signed with a capacitor manufacturer for the technical and commercial evaluation of the company’s CNF-MIM technology has been extended until December 31.

At the same time, the parties have started a concrete dialogue on a possible continuation of the cooperation, where a decision is expected during the first quarter of 2021, a press release emerges. It was in the spring that Smoltek submitted two separate license agreements for the technical and commercial evaluation of the company’s CNF-MIM technology for semiconductor applications. However, the assessment projects that were launched later in the spring have taken longer than expected to complete. The license, which was signed in March 2020 with a company described as “the largest manufacturer of capacitors in the world” and then extended until the end of October, will now be extended for the remainder of the year, at no additional cost to the licensee. Smoltek writes that the formalization has taken a long time, but that the agreement has now been signed. The extension will mean that the parties can focus on completing the assessment while discussing a possible continuation of cooperation. – It is good that we have now agreed to an extension of this license agreement so that we can complete the evaluation properly. When this happens, the licensee will have excellent conditions to decide on a possible continued collaboration to allow the integration of our CNF-MIM technology in future products, says Ola Tiverman, president of the group company Smoltek Semi AB in a press release. At the same time, the company is also conducting a corresponding dialogue on the continuation of the collaboration with a licensee whose evaluation license runs until March 31, 2021. Smoltek expects to be able to provide an update on this collaboration during the second quarter. from 2021.
