Roaming between Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania will be canceled from tomorrow, Deputy Minister for Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Milan Dobrijevic confirmed to Tanjug.
“This is the last phase of the implementation of the agreement concluded in Belgrade in April 2019, and in that last phase, the implementation of which begins on July 1, we will completely abolish roaming in the Western Balkans. This means that prices were discussed that it will send SMS messages and use data on mobile networks in national traffic so that they are identical on the territory of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, ”said Dobrijevic.
He emphasized that the prices of mobile phone services are the same for all the countries mentioned, but asked citizens to inform their operators of the details before the trip due to the different service packages they have, in order to avoid misunderstandings and inconveniences.
Dobrijevic said there are no essential restrictions regarding the use of mobile phone services, but added that, following the example of EU countries, a fair use policy has been introduced.
“It all comes down to the fact that the user should not stay in another country and use the card of the operator of his country of origin. If he goes to sea for 10 or 20 days, there can be no situation of misuse of the card. , because the behavior shows the user for four months “, emphasizes Dobrijević.
He explained that if in that period there is a predominant or exclusive use of the Serbian operator’s card in one of the aforementioned surrounding countries, then the operator will notify you.
“After that, the user can correct his behavior. Only if he does not act on the warning, the operator has the right to charge a roaming fee, but we do not expect that to happen in practice,” said Dobrijevic.
