As the successor to the Sony Xperia 1 III, the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 IV is said to have a 6.5-inch display with no notch or hole punch and a 3.5mm jack connection. The first 5K renderings based on final CAD drawings should show the design of the smartphone, which has remained almost unchanged since the Sony Xperia 1 II (test).
New hardware with the familiar look
According to the latest rumors, Sony is sticking with the 6.5-inch OLED panel with 3,840 × 1,644 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. These key data also confirm those of the alias Steve Hemmerstoffer, known for his pre-releases mostly accurate. @OnLeaks on designer Michael Ma alias @apple_idesigner Commissioned renderings said to have been created based on final drawings from vendor circles.
along with the site Giznext Steve Hemmerstoffer has now posted some renders and a 360° video of the Sony Xperia 1 IV, which is rumored to have the following specs:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (benchmark)
- 1 × Cortex-X2 at 2.995 GHz
- 3 × Cortex-A710 @ 2.50GHz
- 4 × Cortex-A510 @ 1.80GHz
- 12 to 16 Gigabyte LPDDR5 with up to 6400 MT/s
- 6.5″ OLED display with 3160 × 1644 pixels and 120 Hz
- Dimensions of 164.7 × 70.8 × 8.3 mm (L×W×H)
- Camera with three sensors and 9.5 mm height
Unlike the predecessor, Sony will probably do without a dedicated Google Assistant button on the Xperia 1 IV, but the familiar 3.5mm jack for headphones and earphones is back on board. In terms of form, Sony has retained the design of the Xperia 1 III and only made the frame slightly more angular.
All information should be treated with a bit of caution at the moment, only Qualcomm’s new SoC can already be considered as the successor to the Snapdragon 888.
