The day has come when ChromeOS also wants to compete with Windows and other platforms in the gaming space. Google has now released the first early version of Steam. Chromebooks are now more than PCs with Android browsers and games. They support modern cloud gaming, the most popular Android mobile games, and now real PC games.
Steam on Chromebooks: nothing is left to chance
In short: Steam in the alpha version requires at least 8 gigabytes of RAM and also an 11th generation Core i5 or i7. So pretty up-to-date and fast hardware, which probably isn’t included in most Chromebooks sold. But it’s also not a new phenomenon that games need a little more power.
