I know I know Many of you find it hard to put up with the PR babble at various gaming events, or the way host Geoff Keighley kisses the butts of his developer friends (especially when Hideo Kojima is around). And the often generic CGI trailers that reveal little about the game also scream a waste of time.
But maybe that’s exactly why I’m sitting where I’m sitting (in my home office) and doing what I’ve been doing with great pleasure for many years (you know: editing stuff for the PC and video game area), because I feel that childish, anticipatory tingle every year as we approach June. Finally new announcements! New trailers! New gameplay! New information! In a comparatively short period of time! Cold!

Although we have to again do without E3 this year, but we still have a jam-packed schedule of events to look forward to in the coming weeks. Here is an overview of the most important dates in June:
What awaits us? Geoff Keighley reveals
The two most important dates in the list above are without a doubt the Xbox and Bethesda showcase (Starfield Gameplay Premiere?!) and the Summer Game Fest. At Geoff Keighley’s event, as mentioned at the beginning, many of the publishers and developers who are unable or unwilling to host their own event are honored to do so. Partners already confirmed include:

As in the past, the moderator is back this time via Twitter asked to speak to give perspective on the upcoming event. He explains that after the experiences of last year, there will be fewer independent streaming events this year. On the one hand, the fans were very disappointed that these small events did not have the character of a press conference. On the other hand, many studios/publishers only have one or two big projects to show. It’s not worth a separate stream for that. Events like the Summer Game Fest, which can give these games a stage, benefit from this.
But Geoff Keighley also curbs expectations: Gamers won’t see everything they could be expecting in June 2022. We’re also not expecting an event that can compete with E3. The Summer Game Fest is very different. However, the moderator promises that we can expect a great game (via game front).
