Accelerator for your PC: the new Windows function slows down the consumption of resources

Date:

Task Manager is often used to bring down blocked programs. However, in the future, more users might use the built-in tool to slow down resource-intensive programs. All you have to do is call the task manager and choose one of the running programs from the list.

Then all you have to do is click the new “Efficiency Mode” button. Alternatively, the new economy mode is also displayed via the context menu. You can also launch it with a right click. Windows again explicitly asks if you want to turn on efficiency mode for the selected program.

You just have to confirm this with “Ok” and then Windows sends the program to economy mode. In the task manager itself, slow programs are decorated with green leaf icons. Technically, the task manager assigns a lower priority to the selected programs. This frees up computing power for other programs.

Important: Core Windows processes that are required for smooth operation cannot be switched to efficiency mode. Also, the saver program only works for individual processes and not entire process groups.
