Dusseldorf The energy supply is increasingly scarce, and that is reflected in the prices. On Monday, the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology announced the amount of the gas surcharge: from October 1, domestic customers and businesses will receive up to 2,419 cents more per kilowatt hour, depending on how much is transferred to the consumer. It is difficult to predict how prices will evolve in the long term. But regardless of profitability, it’s time to look for alternatives. Because even according to environmental criteria, gas behaves poorly. Owners have more freedom of choice here than renters.

While the latter can create alternatives, especially by changing contracts or using mobile devices, owners only have the option to take bigger steps. The heat pump is becoming increasingly popular in the discussion of sustainable and economical alternatives. But to what extent does it really reduce heating costs?
