Pearl Abyss is rolling out Lunar New Year celebrations across its flagship MMORPGs, Black Desert Online and Black Desert Mobile, offering U.S. players a series of limited-time in-game events, login bonuses, and seasonal rewards.
The Lunar New Year, observed by millions across Asia and widely recognized in multicultural communities throughout the United States, has become a recurring theme in live-service games. This year’s in-game festivities begin in mid-February and extend into early March, giving players multiple opportunities to participate.
Lunar New Year Events in Black Desert Online
Daily Login Rewards Through Late February
From February 13 to February 25, players who log in for seven total days can earn special Lunar New Year rewards. These include a Lucky New Year Gift Box and Blacksmith’s Shiny Boxes, which together provide 3,000 Crone Stones along with other high-value enhancement items commonly used in character progression.
Major Experience and Drop Rate Boosts
Between February 12 and February 26, Black Desert Online is running a “Hot Time” event that significantly increases progression speed. Players receive a 1,000% Combat EXP boost, 400% Skill EXP boost, and 100% Life EXP boost, excluding Trading and Training. Item drop rates are also increased by 100%, making this period especially attractive for leveling characters or farming rare materials.
Special Event Boxes in Monster Zones
During the same period, special event boxes will appear in monster zones throughout the game world. Defeating these boxes grants the Red Horse’s buff and a Red Horse Pouch of Fortune, which can award up to 2,000 Crone Stones along with other valuable items.
Seasonal Fishing Event Adds New Rewards
From February 12 to February 26, three varieties of Red Seabream can be caught at fishing locations across the game. Players can deliver the fish to the NPC Donghwa in exchange for rewards, including the Bountiful New Year’s Box, which may grant up to 1,000 Crone Stones. Any remaining event fish can also be sold for substantial amounts of in-game Silver.

Fortune Pouches Offer Player Choice
Between February 16 and February 23, Black Desert Mobile players can receive a New Year’s Fortune Pouch each day via their in-game mailbox. These pouches can be exchanged for rewards of the player’s choosing, with options tied to different pouch colors.
Daily Login Event Runs Into March
A separate Lunar New Year login event runs from February 16 through March 2. Players can check in daily to claim rewards, with the check-in resetting at midnight local server time. Rewards can be claimed for up to five days during the event period.
Puzzle Event Adds an Element of Chance
Also running from February 16 to March 2, the Lunar New Year Puzzle Event challenges players to uncover rewards from a 25-tile puzzle board. Puzzle Pieces can be collected daily and used to reveal tiles. Each board includes one top-tier reward, and the puzzle can be refreshed up to three times per day.
