POSTAL: Brain Damaged – These Sunny Daze DLC Launches on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch

Date:

The chaotic world of the POSTAL franchise is expanding again, this time bringing its tropical-themed downloadable content to consoles. Developer HYPERSTRANGE and publisher Running With Scissors announced that POSTAL: Brain Damaged – These Sunny Daze (PTSD) is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, delivering the franchise’s signature satire and over-the-top action to a new audience of console players.

Originally released on PC, the DLC adds a beach-themed storyline and new gameplay mechanics to POSTAL: Brain Damaged, a fast-paced first-person shooter inspired by classic “boomer shooters” popularized in the 1990s.

A Vacation Gone Wrong for the POSTAL Dude

In These Sunny Daze, players once again take control of the POSTAL Dude, the long-running antihero known for navigating bizarre and controversial situations throughout the series.

The new storyline begins with what appears to be a relaxing beach vacation. However, the getaway quickly spirals into chaos after the fictional U.S. president announces a controversial ban on redheads, triggering a violent chain of events that pushes the POSTAL Dude back into action.

Players battle their way through waves of satirical enemies while progressing from a sunny boardwalk environment toward a final confrontation that leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Absurd Weapons and Over-the-Top Combat

Like other entries in the POSTAL series, the DLC leans heavily into outrageous humor and exaggerated combat.

Players gain access to a variety of unconventional weapons, including:

  • Piss Gun
  • Weiner-Grinder Shotgun
  • Nyanbrella

These tools allow players to fight through large groups of enemies across semi-open environments filled with chaotic encounters.

The expansion also introduces a new movement ability called Sticky Hands, which lets players boost, swing, and traverse combat arenas quickly, helping them avoid attacks while closing in on enemies.

Satirical Enemies and Fast-Paced Action

The DLC’s enemies reflect the franchise’s trademark satirical tone. Players will encounter exaggerated foes such as Xitch Thots, Tera Chads, and Hardened Seamen, each designed to parody internet culture and modern social stereotypes.

The gameplay focuses on rapid movement, aggressive combat, and dense enemy encounters, drawing inspiration from classic shooters like Doom and Quake while incorporating modern mechanics.

Levels feature multiple pathways and arena-style battles, encouraging players to stay mobile while managing incoming attacks from multiple directions.

A Long-Running Cult Series Expands to Consoles

Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi said the new console release continues the franchise’s decades-long tradition of putting the POSTAL Dude into increasingly chaotic scenarios.

“For nearly 30 years, millions of players have found the POSTAL Dude in all sorts of crazy situations,” Desi said. “This time around, the PTSD DLC gives console owners of PlayStation and Nintendo Switch a chance to deliver a boomer shooter beatdown.”

The POSTAL series, which began in 1997, has maintained a loyal fan base despite frequent controversy and bans in some regions due to its dark humor and graphic content.

Pricing, Platforms, and Language Support

The POSTAL: Brain Damaged – These Sunny Daze (PTSD) DLC is now available digitally on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch for $7.99.

Players who do not already own the base game can purchase a bundle that includes both POSTAL: Brain Damaged and the DLC for $24.99.

The expansion includes subtitle support in several languages:

  • English
  • Polish
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Spanish

Both the base game and the DLC remain available on PC through Steam and GOG.
