Satisfactory Board Game Announced, Crowdfunding Campaign Set for September Launch

Date:

Coffee Stain and MOOD Publishing Bring the Hit Factory-Building Video Game to Tabletops

Fans of Satisfactory will soon have a new way to experience the popular factory-building game. Coffee Stain Publishing, Coffee Stain Studios, and MOOD Publishing have announced Satisfactory: The Board Game, a tabletop adaptation of the award-winning video game that will launch its crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound in September 2026.

The announcement was made during the Gamefound Feast event, where the companies unveiled the project and confirmed that additional details, artwork, and game components will be revealed in the coming months.

A Competitive Tabletop Experience Inspired by the Video Game

Designed and produced by Copenhagen-based MOOD Publishing, the board game translates the core mechanics of the original video game into a tabletop format for one to four players.

Like its digital counterpart, Satisfactory: The Board Game challenges players to build efficient production systems while competing to complete the Save the Day Program. Participants take on the role of FICSIT Pioneers, harvesting resources across the planet MASSAGE-2(A-B)b to construct a Space Elevator and earn the title of FICSIT Employee of the Month.

The game combines resource management, strategic planning, and factory optimization in a sandbox-style experience designed for both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.

Key Gameplay Features

Explore an Alien World

Players will explore the diverse environments of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b, discovering valuable resources and determining the best locations for building production facilities. Strategic placement of factories plays a central role in maximizing efficiency throughout the game.

Build and Optimize Automated Factories

Automation remains one of the defining features of Satisfactory. Players will construct machines, conveyor belts, and production lines while balancing power generation to keep their factories operating efficiently. As production chains become more complex, careful planning becomes increasingly important.

Unlock New Technologies

Completing objectives and project milestones allows players to unlock advanced technologies that expand production capabilities and improve factory performance. Technological progression mirrors one of the signature gameplay loops from the original video game.

Solo and Multiplayer Modes

The board game supports both solo play and groups of up to four players. Whether competing alone or with friends, participants race to complete their objectives while building the most successful industrial operation.

Developed With the Original Studio

Coffee Stain Studios said the tabletop adaptation is being developed in close collaboration with MOOD Publishing to ensure the experience remains faithful to the original game.

The partnership aims to recreate the atmosphere and strategic gameplay that helped make Satisfactory a standout title in the factory-building genre while adapting its mechanics for tabletop play.

More information, including component designs, artwork, and gameplay details, will be released before the crowdfunding campaign begins later this year.

MOOD Publishing Continues Expanding Video Games Into Board Games

MOOD Publishing has developed a reputation for adapting successful video game franchises into tabletop experiences. Previous projects include board game versions of Deep Rock Galactic, Valheim, and Hitman.

The addition of Satisfactory further expands the publisher’s portfolio of licensed strategy games based on well-known gaming franchises.

About Satisfactory

Originally developed by Coffee Stain Studios, Satisfactory is a first-person factory-building and automation game in which players explore an alien planet, gather resources, construct increasingly complex production lines, and optimize sprawling industrial networks. The game has earned critical acclaim for its blend of exploration, logistics, and creative problem-solving.

Coffee Stain, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Sweden, is also known for developing and publishing titles including Goat Simulator, Sanctum, A Story About My Uncle, Huntdown, Deep Rock Galactic, Valheim, Songs of Conquest, and Midnight Ghost Hunt.

Conclusion

With Satisfactory: The Board Game scheduled to launch its crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound this September, fans of the acclaimed factory-building video game will soon have the opportunity to bring its automation and resource management gameplay to the tabletop. Developed in collaboration between Coffee Stain Studios and MOOD Publishing, the adaptation aims to deliver a strategic experience that captures the spirit of the original while offering a new way to compete with friends or play solo.
