Pearl Abyss has unveiled Crimson Desert Enhanced, an expanded version of its open-world action-adventure game featuring new story content and broader language support. The announcement was made during Opening Night Live in Cologne, Germany, as the title also secured two nominations at the Gamescom Awards 2026.
Crimson Desert Enhanced Adds New Cutscenes and Dialogue
A new one-minute trailer showcased several changes coming with Crimson Desert Enhanced, including additional cutscenes and dialogue intended to strengthen the game’s narrative flow.
The update expands the presentation of Crimson Desert’s story, which follows Kliff, a member of the Greymanes, after a devastating attack by the rival Black Bears leaves his companions dead or scattered across the continent.
Kliff sets out to reunite with the surviving Greymanes and rebuild what was lost. His journey across the open world of Pywel introduces new alliances, dangerous factions and a larger threat tied to his unfolding destiny.
Five New Voiceover Languages Expand Accessibility
Crimson Desert Enhanced is also receiving five additional voiceover languages: French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese.
Arabic subtitles and user-interface support have been added as well, expanding the number of players who can experience the game’s story and dialogue in their preferred language.
The localization expansion reflects the international audience Pearl Abyss is targeting across North America, Europe, Asia and other gaming markets.
Crimson Desert Gets First Discount Across All Platforms
Alongside the Enhanced update, Pearl Abyss has launched the first all-platform discount for Crimson Desert since its release.
Through September 9, the game will be available at 20% off across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Epic Games Store and Apple Mac.
Players who already own Crimson Desert will not need to purchase another edition. Existing owners will receive the Enhanced version as a free update.
The simultaneous discount gives players across console, PC and Mac platforms access to the same promotional pricing while introducing the expanded version to new audiences.
Crimson Desert Earns Two Gamescom Awards 2026 Nominations
The Enhanced announcement arrives as Crimson Desert competes for two Gamescom Awards 2026 honors.
The game has been nominated in the Most Epic and Best PC Game categories.
Best PC Game recognizes titles for their overall quality, technical polish and player experience on PC. The Most Epic category focuses on games that deliver a particularly memorable experience through large-scale storytelling and intense gameplay.
The nominations give Crimson Desert additional visibility during one of the gaming industry’s largest annual events.
Pearl Abyss and Samsung Bring Playable Demo to Gamescom
Pearl Abyss will also give Gamescom attendees an opportunity to play Crimson Desert Enhanced during the event in Cologne.
In partnership with Samsung Electronics, the developer will offer hands-on demonstrations from August 26 through August 30. The booth will be located in Hall 09.1, Stand B020–C029.
Visitors will be able to explore the world of Pywel using Samsung’s latest gaming monitor hardware, providing an in-person look at the Enhanced edition following its Opening Night Live presentation.
Pearl Abyss Expands Its Open-World Game Portfolio

The South Korean developer builds its games using proprietary technology and is also developing DokeV and PLAN 8 with its next-generation BlackSpace Engine.

With new story sequences, expanded voiceover and subtitle options, a free upgrade for existing owners and its first simultaneous discount across platforms, Crimson Desert Enhanced represents a significant update for the game.
