CAAAHR!, a voice-controlled cooperative racing game from solo developer Mateo Covic and publisher Assemble Entertainment, will launch November 2, 2026, for PC through Steam. Revealed during the gamescom 2026 Awesome Indies showcase, the game gives two players shared control of a single car — with one steering while the other uses their voice to control acceleration.
CAAAHR! Turns Players’ Voices Into the Gas Pedal
The central concept behind CAAAHR! is straightforward: the louder one player gets, the faster the vehicle travels.
Two players operate the same car simultaneously. One controls its direction through obstacle-filled courses, while the other uses their microphone to accelerate. Voice input also plays a role in actions including jumping and boosting.
The unusual control system is designed to make communication part of the gameplay, particularly as players encounter jumps, traps, checkpoints and other hazards.
“After Paddle Paddle Paddle, I wanted to make another co-op game that is simple to understand and instantly turns into panic,” said Mateo Covic, solo developer of CAAAHR!. “Using your voice as the gas pedal was too stupid not to try. I hope people have fun with it. I also hope their neighbors forgive me.”
Local and Online Co-Op Are Both Supported
CAAAHR! will support both local and online cooperative multiplayer, allowing two players to tackle its racing challenges from the same room or remotely.
A single-player option will also be available for players who want to handle the experience alone.
Leaderboards Target Speedrunners and Competitive Players
Beyond simply reaching the end of the course, the game includes online leaderboards for duos competing for faster completion times.
An integrated timer supports speedrunning, while optional shortcuts give players opportunities to reduce their times by taking more challenging routes.
The game is built around one large handcrafted level filled with obstacles and checkpoints rather than a series of separate racing tracks.
Players can also unlock skins and achievements as they progress. Rebindable controls will allow users to adjust the traditional inputs to their preferred keyboard configuration.
Voice Controls Could Make CAAAHR! Streamer-Friendly
The voice-powered mechanic is also aimed at players who create gaming content or stream multiplayer sessions.
Because acceleration depends on microphone input, the game naturally creates situations in which one player may need to shout while the other tries to maintain control of the vehicle.
That structure follows Covic’s previous game, Paddle Paddle Paddle, a 2025 cooperative title built around deliberately difficult controls, coordination and environmental hazards.
Covic, a 23-year-old developer from Germany working under ZoroArts, is again focusing on cooperative mechanics that are easy to understand but designed to become increasingly chaotic during play.
CAAAHR! Featured in Assemble Entertainment’s Gamescom Lineup
Assemble Entertainment is presenting CAAAHR! as part of its gamescom 2026 lineup in Cologne, Germany.
The publisher’s showcase also includes Glintseeker Island, a mining and treasure-hunting adventure; Lie Of Caelum: Spirit, an atmospheric game centered on spirits and exploration; and Tower Tactics 2, which combines roguelike deckbuilding with tower-defense strategy.
Other games appearing in the lineup include BREAKOUT BABY, Viking survivor title Asgard’s Fall, horror game Sin or Suffer and Dungeon Gambler: All In No Out.
BREAKOUT BABY and Sin or Suffer are designated for adult audiences only.
Assemble Continues Expanding Its Indie Catalog
Based in Wiesbaden, Germany, Assemble Entertainment was founded in 2016 and has released more than 50 games across multiple genres.
Its catalog includes titles such as Sticky Business, Roadwarden, Decktamer, Paddle Paddle Paddle, Grind Survivors and the Endzone franchise.
For CAAAHR!, the publisher is pairing Covic’s deliberately chaotic multiplayer design with a PC release aimed at co-op players, streamers and speedrunning communities.
CAAAHR! Arrives on PC in November
CAAAHR! is scheduled to launch on Steam for PC on November 2, 2026. With voice-controlled acceleration, shared driving responsibilities, local and online multiplayer, leaderboards and speedrunning features, the game puts an unconventional spin on cooperative racing by making communication — and volume — an essential part of reaching the finish line.
