UNDEFEATED: Genesis, an upcoming superhero action RPG from Indie-us Games and publisher Chorus Worldwide, has released a playable demo on Steam alongside a new trailer highlighting the game’s high-speed flight, superpowered combat and expansive alien setting. The full game is scheduled to arrive on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 in 2027.
New Trailer Showcases the World of Voltissia
The latest look at UNDEFEATED: Genesis was revealed during PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026. The footage focuses on several of the game’s core mechanics, including unrestricted flight, rapid traversal, ground and aerial combat, and exploration across the alien planet Voltissia.
The Steam demo is available now, giving players an early opportunity to experience the superhero-focused gameplay before the full release.
At the center of the story is Albert Hartree, known as Al, a young man who has long admired superheroes. His life changes when he is unexpectedly transported to Voltissia and discovers that he has gained extraordinary abilities.
Far from Earth and searching for a way home, Al encounters the Enelf, survivors connected to a civilization that was destroyed 500 years earlier. He eventually joins them in protecting the planet’s remaining inhabitants while investigating the catastrophe that devastated Voltissia.
A Larger Successor to the Original UNDEFEATED
The new game builds on the concept established by the original UNDEFEATED, a free superhero game that reached millions of players worldwide.
Rather than simply expanding the original release, UNDEFEATED: Genesis is being developed as a new premium game with a larger environment, deeper character progression and more extensive exploration and combat systems.
Free flight is central to the experience. Players can travel across Voltissia at high speeds while moving between ground-level exploration and aerial traversal without abandoning their superhero abilities.
Superpowers Shape Exploration and Combat
Progression in UNDEFEATED: Genesis is closely tied to Al’s growing collection of powers. New abilities are unlocked through combat and can change how players move through the environment, confront enemies and explore previously inaccessible areas.
Combat is designed around both land and air encounters. Players can use high-speed flight to rapidly approach enemies before transitioning directly into battle, combining movement and attacks in encounters built around speed and physical impact.
The game’s world also plays an important role in its story. Voltissia was transformed by a mysterious explosion 500 years before Al’s arrival, leaving ruined cities alongside forests, wilderness and unusual lifeforms.
Players will explore those environments while investigating what caused the destruction of the planet’s former civilization.
Mutants and Mysteries Await Across Voltissia
Among the threats are powerful mutants that Al must confront as he develops his abilities. The progression system is intended to steadily expand the player’s options, with each acquired power providing additional possibilities for combat and traversal.
The developers are also emphasizing scale. Flight allows players to cover substantial distances while viewing the world’s destroyed settlements and natural landscapes from both the ground and the air.
That freedom is intended to reinforce the superhero theme while giving players multiple ways to approach locations and encounters.
Coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in 2027
UNDEFEATED: Genesis is being developed by UNDEFEATED Games, an internal team at Osaka-based Indie-us Games. The studio has experience working with Unreal Engine, while Tokyo-based Chorus Worldwide is handling publishing.
Chorus Worldwide, founded in 2014, has previously worked with independent developers on games including Coffee Talk, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, When the Past Was Around, Last Time I Saw You and A Space for the Unbound.
With its Steam demo now available, UNDEFEATED: Genesis is offering players an early look at its combination of open-world exploration, unrestricted flight and superhero combat. The complete action RPG is planned for Steam and PlayStation 5 in 2027.
