ACE Entertainment has revealed Seikyu Let’s Go!, a new cooperative adventure that sends up to four players on a campervan road trip through a colorful wilderness inspired by Japanese mythology. The game combines photography, exploration, vehicle customization, puzzles and group activities in a world populated by yokai and other mythical creatures.
Developed by the team behind Tales of Seikyu, the upcoming title centers on traveling with friends, documenting unusual discoveries and overcoming unpredictable challenges together.
Seikyu Let’s Go! Takes Players on a Mythical Road Trip
In Seikyu Let’s Go!, groups of one to four players begin by creating their own characters before climbing aboard a campervan designed by yokai.
According to ACE Entertainment, the unusual vehicle was constructed according to ancient human mythology, giving it some distinctive quirks that players will encounter during their journey.
The campervan serves as both transportation and a customizable mobile home. Players can change its appearance with new paint jobs and decorate the interior and exterior with souvenirs collected along the way.
Keeping the vehicle moving will not always be straightforward. Players may occasionally need to get out and push as they navigate challenging terrain and changing weather conditions.
Photography Is at the Heart of the Journey
Photography is a major part of the adventure, with players traveling through the world in search of memorable subjects and opportunities to capture images.
The journey crosses several distinct environments, including winding mountain roads, hot deserts and harsh swamps. Each biome features mythical creatures and new photography opportunities while presenting different challenges for the group and its campervan.
Players can also stop to camp beneath the stars, toast marshmallows and plan the next stage of their trip.
The game encourages groups to work together as they attempt to become accomplished photographers while surviving the unpredictable conditions of the wilderness.
Rest Stops Bring Quests, Trading and New Characters
Traveling is only one part of Seikyu Let’s Go! Players will encounter characters at rest stops throughout their journey, each offering their own stories and opportunities for interaction.
Some characters will have items available for trade, while others will provide new quests for the group to complete.
These stops are designed to break up the road trip while expanding the game’s world and giving players additional reasons to explore beyond the main photography objective.
Co-op Activities Include Basketball and Go-Karting
ACE Entertainment is also filling the world with optional cooperative activities and minigames.
Players can participate in pickup basketball, go-karting and mushroom foraging, among other activities. The game will also feature quests and unexpected encounters intended to create shared experiences for groups traveling together.
Proximity chat will help players locate and communicate with one another during their adventures. Groups can also gather for selfies, reinforcing the photography and memory-making themes at the center of the game.
Character and Campervan Customization Play Major Roles
Customization extends beyond the campervan. Seikyu Let’s Go! will offer hundreds of character creation options, allowing players to develop distinctive appearances before heading into the wilderness.
The group’s mobile home can then be personalized throughout the adventure as players collect souvenirs and other customization options.
The game combines those life-simulation elements with cooperative exploration, requiring players to rely on one another while dealing with dangerous terrain, sudden weather changes and the challenges of keeping their vehicle moving.
Japanese Folklore Shapes the World of Seikyu Let’s Go!
Yokai and other mythical creatures are central to the setting. Yokai are supernatural beings and spirits found throughout Japanese folklore, appearing in centuries of stories, art and popular culture.
