The vampire hunt is beginning early for Castlevania players. Konami Digital Entertainment has released a playable demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, giving players access to the opening stages before the full game arrives October 15, 2026.
The demo is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Progress made during the trial can be transferred to the full version when it launches, provided players meet the required save-transfer conditions.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo Available on Four Platforms
The demo offers an early look at the latest entry in Konami’s long-running Castlevania franchise, allowing players to experience the beginning of Rose Belmont’s journey.
Save data from the demo can carry over to the full game, but players must remain on the same platform and use the same account. The demo save file must also be retained, and the full game needs to be updated to its latest version before progress can be transferred.
Konami noted that certain features and content may be restricted in the demo compared with the complete release.
The company is also allowing players to share gameplay videos and related content from the demo in accordance with its official video-posting guidelines.
Rose Belmont Takes the Fight to Paris in 1499
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is an exploration-based 2D action game jointly developed by Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin.
The story takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III. Players assume the role of Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont, the hero known for defeating Dracula.
Rose must battle monsters while traveling through the burning streets of Paris and exploring Dracula’s castle.
Vampire Killer Returns as Part of Rose Belmont’s Arsenal
Combat gives Rose access to multiple weapons and abilities, including the Belmont family’s sacred whip, Vampire Killer.
The combination of 2D action and exploration continues gameplay traditions associated with the Castlevania series while introducing a new Belmont protagonist and historical setting.
Players using the newly released demo can begin exploring these systems before carrying eligible progress into the complete game later in October.
Physical and Digital Pre-Orders Are Available
Pre-orders are now open for both physical and digital editions of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
Konami is also offering a Midnight Edition of the game in digital and physical formats. The special edition includes alternate costumes for Rose Belmont, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery and an in-game relic.
Players who pre-order or make an eligible early purchase of any edition will also receive an additional Alucard-style costume for Rose.
Demo Progress Can Transfer to the Full Game
Players planning to continue their demo save should keep several requirements in mind.
The demo and full version must be played on the same platform and under the same account. Players must retain their demo save data, while the full version needs to be running its latest available update when the transfer takes place.
The demo itself may also exclude or limit certain features that will be available in the complete game.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Arrives October 15
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is scheduled to launch October 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
With the playable demo now available, players can experience the opening portion of Rose Belmont’s story ahead of release and, if the transfer requirements are met, continue that progress when the full vampire-hunting adventure launches later this month.
