8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller Debuts in European Markets
KARLSTAD, Sweden — Game Outlet Europe, an independent distributor of video games and gaming accessories, announced the European availability of the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller for Xbox.
The new model builds on 8BitDo’s Ultimate controller series, introducing interchangeable hardware components, expanded customization options, and features intended to improve responsiveness during competitive gaming.
The controller is officially licensed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It supports 2.4GHz wireless connectivity and wired operation, providing connection options for casual gaming and competitive environments.
Additional compatibility with Windows PCs and Bluetooth-enabled Apple and Android devices allows users to switch between console, computer, and mobile gaming.
Modular Components Allow Players to Customize Controls
One of the Ultimate 3E’s central features is its modular design, which allows players to replace several control components according to their preferences.
Interchangeable Buttons, Thumbsticks, and D-Pads
The controller includes interchangeable ABXY button modules, offering a choice between silicone buttons and microswitch technology.
Silicone buttons provide a traditional feel, while microswitch buttons offer a more tactile response.
Players can also choose between a standard directional pad and a circular D-pad, depending on the type of game and preferred directional input.
The included thumbstick options consist of:
-
Two standard thumbsticks
-
Two tall thumbsticks
-
One thick-neck thumbstick
-
One dome-shaped thumbstick
These interchangeable components allow users to adjust their controller setup for different gaming genres, including first-person shooters, fighting games, and action titles.
The Ultimate 3E also introduces a wider grip angle and silicone side grips intended to improve comfort and stability during extended gaming sessions.
Precision Technology Targets Competitive PC Gaming
8BitDo has equipped the Ultimate 3E with several technologies designed to improve control accuracy and input responsiveness.
TMR Thumbsticks and 1000Hz Polling Rate
The controller uses TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) thumbstick technology alongside a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter sampling chip.
According to the manufacturer, this combination is designed to provide more precise and stable analog input.
For competitive PC gaming, the controller supports polling rates of up to 1000Hz, allowing frequent communication of controller inputs to the connected computer.
RGB lighting rings surrounding the thumbsticks provide visual feedback during gameplay.
Adjustable Triggers and Additional Buttons
Hall-effect impulse triggers include two selectable trigger stops, allowing players to adjust trigger travel according to their gaming preferences.
The controller also features L4 and R4 bumper buttons designed for rapid input, along with two programmable rear buttons.
These additional controls allow players to assign frequently used actions to accessible positions without removing their thumbs from the analog sticks.
Such functionality can be particularly useful in competitive shooters and other games requiring simultaneous movement, aiming, and button inputs.
Motion Controls and Software Customization Expand Functionality
The Ultimate 3E supports customizable six-axis motion controls when connected to a Windows PC through its 2.4GHz wireless mode.
This feature enables motion-based aiming and other supported gameplay interactions.
Players can further configure the controller through the free 8BitDo Ultimate Software X application.
Adjustable Settings Through Ultimate Software X
The software provides customization options for button mapping, thumbstick sensitivity, trigger ranges, and vibration intensity.
These settings allow users to create personalized control configurations for different games and playing styles.
Battery Life, Charging Dock, and Included Accessories
The Ultimate 3E features an internal rechargeable battery rated for up to 18 hours of continuous gameplay on a full charge.
An included charging dock provides a dedicated location for charging and storing the controller between gaming sessions.
The package also includes an accessory pack containing interchangeable components and a protective travel case.
Together, these accessories provide players with options for maintaining and transporting their preferred controller configurations.
