The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC will be unveiled at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit on November 30 this year.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is reportedly manufactured by Samsung, codenamed SM8450, using a 4nm process. Later, another version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 will also be released using TSMC’s 4nm process technology.
A well-known Chinese insider under the nickname Digital Chat Station has published exclusive information that all production models of the Xiaomi 12 series are equipped with the SM8450 platform, that is, they use Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen1.
As for the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, the platform is expected to offer a 20% performance increase over its predecessor. It will be powered by an ARM Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.0GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and four low-power Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.79GHz.
The single-chip system will work with the Snapdragon X65 5G modem, which could theoretically offer a maximum downlink speed of 10Gbps. The GPU will be the Adreno 730.
Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications and release dates of the Redmi K30, K40, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 11.
