Apple has removed the “TV Remote” app from the App Store due to the integration of remotes into iOS

Date:

Apple today silently removed the “Apple TV Remote” app from the App Store. This allows the user to control the Apple TV from an iPhone or iPad that simulates a real Remote. The app is no longer available for download from the App Store and Apple has probably discontinued it. That is, no updates will be obtained.

This is not surprising as Apple has added a remote feature built into the iOS 12 Control Center. As a result, Apple TV users can access all Siri Remote controls without having to download the app.

9to5Mac Apple has also found that it has removed almost all references to the Apple TV Remote app. This suggests that the company actually stopped it. A 9to5Mac Readers contacted Apple Support to ask about the app, but said even the support agent couldn’t explain what happened.

Well, if you visit Apple Support Website, The article on using Apple TV Remote on iPhone or iPad only suggests adding the Remote option to the iOS Control Center.

It’s worth mentioning that the Apple TV Remote app, unlike the iTunes Remote app, allows users to play songs and videos remotely on their Apple TV or Mac. This app is still in use. Available for free on the App Store..
