Assassin’s Creed Valhara wins Christmas No. 1 with Cyberpunk 2077 falling to 3rd place | UK Boxed Chart

Date:

This year is Christmas’s No. 1 close quarters battle, and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has emerged as the No. 1 physical game of the time.

This is the first time Assassin’s Creed has won the No. 1 position on Christmas (in fact, the first time for Ubisoft), and the third time a non-FIFA or Call of Duty game has surpassed the box chart in 15 years (Source). : GfK Entertainment).

Pre-Christmas price cuts increased game sales by 66%. This game has defeated Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. This was second after selling the same number of copies as last week. This is the first time the Black Ops Subseries has failed to win Christmas No. 1.

Last week’s big No. 1 was Cyberpunk 2077, and RPGs fell to No. 3 this week with sales down 80%. The game has recently received very negative coverage due to its poor technical performance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, keep in mind that it is not uncommon for sales to drop by 80% in games like this. In fact, other games that won big pre-orders, such as The Last of Us: Part Two in the summer and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in November, fell 80% and 70%, respectively, in the second week.

Negative coverage may have had some impact on game sales this week, but most of the decline is expected.

CD Projekt’s new game blocks FIFA 21, which has to settle in fourth place, despite a 40% increase in sales. On the other hand, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was fifth, with sales down 11%. This is the first decline in sales in more than a month. With only 9,000 units, the 5th Animal Crossing and the 1st Assassin’s Creed Valhara are separated.

The entire chart is based on purely physical retail sales.

Elsewhere, sales surged across the chart, partly due to price discounts. Spider-Man: Miles Morales rises to 6th place after 45% increase in sales, Ring Fit Adventure returns to the top 10 in 9th place after 155% increase in sales, and Super Mario 3D All Stars takes 10th place with 44% Did. Increased sales. Other than the Top 10, Immortals: Fenyx Rising jumped to 12th place with a 107% increase in sales, Watch Dogs Legion jumped to 14th place with a 98% increase in sales, and Carnival Games returned to 35th place with 499. Rapid increase in sales. There was also a deal for PS4 games. In other words, The Last of Us: Part Two jumped 374 |% to 30th place, and Ghost of Tsushima increased 208% to 34th place.

Here are the top 10 Christmas GfKs for the week ending December 19th:
