Riot Games and Coca-Cola® announce the start of their multi-year partnership, the first of its kind in mobile gaming and esports. The agreement states that League of Legends: Savage Rift and Wild Rift Esportsone of the fastest growing esports and mobile gaming franchises in esports, is collaborating with Coca-Cola to create meaningful connections with fans around the world.
“We know mobile gaming is an important part of the future of gaming and we’re excited to partner with the leader at the intersection of sports and entertainment, Riot Games,” said Brad Ross, global vice president of assets, influencers and partnerships for The Coca-Cola Company. “Coca-Cola was one of the first partners of League of Legends Esports and we know firsthand that gaming has the power to bring people from all over the world together in competition and as fans. Coca-Cola is the ally of the gamers: it refreshes and empowers both the players and the fans”.
Wild Rift Esports, the first mobile esports from Riot Games, launched its first official season of 2022, accompanied by the establishment in eight regions and a global season finale. Teams from around the world will compete in regional tournaments to qualify for the first international tournament of Wild Rift to rate that Wild Rift Icons World Championshipwhich will take place this summer. The date and venue of the final will be announced later.
As a global founding partner, Coca-Cola will create unique fan experiences for both League of Legends: Savage Rift as well as Wild Rift Esports help shape The brand will focus on creating value for players from this partnership. This includes special rewards and experiences for the community, including a weekly series of shared content with Wild Rift created to delight, entertain and nurture fans. The first implementation of the partnership can be seen in a recent Coca-Cola digital campaign titled “It Must Be Real” scenes from the Wild Rift Esports shows.
This is not the first time that Coca-Cola has partnered with Riot Games to offer fans new and exciting opportunities. Coca-Cola collaborated between 2014 and 2016 League of Legends for its World Cup and created individual experiences for viewers with exclusive and coveted products in various countries through partnerships with cinemas.
