After two consecutive weeks off, Clemson returned to the field on Saturday to prove something. The Tigers are in third place in the College Football Playoff Rankings and will not be able to perform poorly against Pittsburgh on Saturday at fifth-place Texas A & M and sixth-place Florida as competition for CFP positioning intensifies.
The 7-1 Tigers may fill their hands with the Panthers team, which improved to 5-4 with 47-14 thrashing at Virginia Tech last week. If Clemson slips, the Aggies or Gators may be ready to slip into the playoffs photo. Texas A & M is seeking revenge for its 50-7 defeat to LSU last year. Meanwhile, Florida 6 is about to continue its attack on the Kentucky team, which gave Alabama 63 points last week. On the other hand, No. 7 Cincinnati should be fine with the Temple, but aims to impress the CFP Committee by playing on the field.
