Animula Nook, the miniature-world cozy life simulation game from LilliLandia Games, will debut a new beta build at gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, giving attendees their latest hands-on look at the upcoming title. The game is scheduled to appear at the Tencent Games booth during the event, which runs from August 26 through August 30.
The new beta introduces visual upgrades, expanded character customization and additional areas to explore as players shrink down and build a life inside a magical miniature world known as Minietopia.
Animula Nook Brings Updated Beta to gamescom 2026
The public demo will be available in Hall 08.1, Space A-051 / B-050 at Koelnmesse.
According to LilliLandia Games, the latest build features improvements to the game’s visuals, materials, rendering technology and character animations. Players will be able to explore updated versions of the desk, windowsill and Wupa Woods environments while meeting new residents, known as Minies.
The beta also adds more furniture and outfits, giving attendees additional customization options during their hands-on sessions.
Visitors can change character clothing, take photos and explore the oversized environments that define the game’s miniature perspective.
A Cozy World Built Around Everyday Objects
Players Turn Familiar Spaces Into Miniature Homes
Animula Nook centers on the idea of living at a tiny scale within ordinary environments. Players can transform everyday clutter and household objects into homes, cafés and gardens.
Activities include building homesteads, collecting unusual natural resources such as bottled sunlight and befriending miniature creatures scattered throughout the world.
A computer desk or windowsill can become a large-scale landscape when viewed from the perspective of the game’s tiny characters, giving familiar environments a different sense of scale.
The title combines exploration with the decorating, collecting and social features typically associated with the growing cozy game genre.
More Than 10 Million Pre-Registrations Reported
LilliLandia Games says Animula Nook has surpassed 10 million pre-registrations since playtest registration opened in February 2026.
The figure comes as interest in cozy life simulation games continues to grow across PC and console platforms, with players increasingly seeking games focused on customization, exploration and relaxed progression.
The gamescom beta is intended to showcase how the project has evolved since earlier testing phases.
gamescom Booth Features Giant Wupa and Interactive Activities
Beyond the playable demo, the physical booth will recreate elements of Minietopia for attendees.
The installation includes a four-meter-tall, or roughly 13-foot, inflatable Wupa, along with themed music, interactive activities and photo opportunities inspired by the game’s miniature world.
Players who participate in activities at the booth will also have a chance to enter a raffle for exclusive Animula Nook merchandise.
Virtual Booth Available for Players at Home
Fans who cannot travel to gamescom will be able to visit an interactive virtual version of the booth on PC and mobile devices.
The online experience is designed to reproduce parts of the physical exhibition while offering game updates, themed mini-games and other interactive content.
Virtual participants will also have an opportunity to win a complete set of exclusive Animula Nook merchandise.
