New Limited-Edition Controller Targets Rhythm Game Fans
CRKD has introduced a new addition to its growing lineup of music gaming accessories with the launch of the CRKD x Gibson Les Paul Olive Drab Pro Edition Guitar Controller.
Designed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, the new controller combines the iconic look of a Gibson Les Paul guitar with modern gaming features aimed at players of popular rhythm titles such as Fortnite Festival, Rock Band 4, Clone Hero, and YARG.
The company says the Olive Drab Pro Edition is available now in limited quantities and will be released as a single production run.
Simplified Design Focuses on Faster Setup
One of the most notable changes in the new model is the removal of the physical nine-mode dial featured on previous CRKD guitar controllers.
According to the company, extensive playtesting led to a streamlined plug-and-play approach intended to help players get into games more quickly while maintaining access to customization features through the CRKD companion app.
Users can still manage game presets, controller remapping, firmware updates, player profiles, and other advanced settings through the software platform.
Built for Modern Rhythm Gaming
The Olive Drab Pro Edition retains many of the premium hardware features found in earlier CRKD guitar controllers.
Key features include:
- Officially licensed by Xbox and Gibson
- Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC
- Gibson Les Paul-inspired design
- Simplified plug-and-play setup
- EZ Glide mechanical fret buttons
- Hall Effect strum bar with haptic feedback
- USB-C wired connectivity
- Low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless connection via included USB dongle
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Compatibility with Fortnite Festival, Rock Band 4, Clone Hero, YARG, and the upcoming Stage Tour
The controller carries a suggested retail price of $134.99 in the United States.
Part of CRKD’s Evolving Guitar Controller Strategy
The launch represents the latest step in CRKD’s effort to modernize guitar controllers for today’s rhythm gaming audience.
While music games experienced peak popularity during the late 2000s with franchises such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, interest in the genre has grown again in recent years thanks to new titles and community-driven games. The company says the updated design is intended to make rhythm gaming more accessible while supporting future releases.
CRKD also highlighted that the Olive Drab Pro Edition helps lay the groundwork for the planned release of Stage Tour, an upcoming rhythm game expected later this year.
Limited Availability
The Olive Drab Pro Edition is currently shipping and will remain available only while supplies last. CRKD has indicated that no additional production runs are planned, making the controller a limited-edition release for collectors and rhythm game enthusiasts.
With its Gibson-inspired styling, updated design, and support for multiple gaming platforms, the new controller reflects the continued demand for specialized peripherals in the growing rhythm gaming market.
