Date:

Publisher to Offer Hands-On Demos and Developer Sessions for New RPGs and Action Titles

German publisher Deck13 Spotlight is preparing a major presence at Gamescom 2026, where attendees will have the opportunity to play several upcoming titles, meet developers, and preview new gameplay demonstrations.

The publisher’s lineup includes five games spanning Japanese-inspired role-playing games, classic pixel-art adventures, and a colorful action-platformer. Visitors can schedule appointments to experience the games firsthand and speak directly with their creators throughout the event.

Full Circle Headlines Deck13’s Gamescom Lineup

Solo Developer’s JRPG Passion Project Draws Industry Attention

One of the most anticipated games on display is Full Circle, an upcoming JRPG from Peruvian solo developer Adolfo Juan Fernando Gazzo Castaneda of 2nd Player Games.

Targeted for release in 2027 across all major platforms, Full Circle combines classic PlayStation-era JRPG inspiration with modern 2.5D visuals and detailed pixel art.

Remarkably, Gazzo Castaneda created nearly every aspect of the game himself, including programming, artwork, music, sound design, writing, and multilingual localization. In addition to game development, he also works as a voice-over artist for television.

The game has already attracted attention from gaming media for its nostalgic style and emotionally driven story.

Gamescom attendees will be able to play the game and meet its developer during scheduled appointments.

Forge of the Fae Brings Celtic Mythology to Classic RPG Gameplay

Story-Driven Adventure Inspired by Chrono Trigger and Early Final Fantasy

Developed by Datadyne, Forge of the Fae blends classic turn-based RPG mechanics with Celtic folklore and the visual style of 19th-century Ireland.

Players take on the role of Fiora, a young inventor investigating mysterious disappearances while navigating growing political unrest surrounding a violent miners’ strike.

The adventure combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and turn-based combat, creating a narrative experience inspired by beloved Japanese role-playing games.

Deck13 will also showcase an extended gameplay demonstration during Gamescom.

Elements Destiny Continues Development Ahead of Planned Launch

Originally announced in late 2024, Elements Destiny is now targeting a fourth-quarter 2026 release for PC and consoles.

The retro-inspired RPG features handcrafted 2D artwork, approximately 70 hours of gameplay, and more than 100 original music tracks.

Set in the fantasy world of Solitas, players control descendants of the legendary Clan of the Elements, whose elemental powers may be the world’s only defense against the returning threat known as the Shadow Crusade.

Each playable character possesses unique abilities that can be used in both turn-based combat and environmental puzzle-solving. Players can also craft weapons, potions, accessories, and other equipment throughout the adventure.

Crystals of Irm Celebrates Classic Dungeon Crawlers

Another solo-developed project, Crystals of Irm, draws inspiration from old-school RPGs and traditional dungeon-crawling adventures.

Scheduled for release on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, the game follows three heroes as they explore the fantasy world of Irm and venture into increasingly dangerous dungeons.

Its gameplay emphasizes strategic combat, exploration, and pixel-art visuals designed to evoke the classic role-playing games of previous generations.

Gamescom visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the game’s developer.

Pocket Wheels Offers Fast-Paced Platforming Adventure

Toy Cars Take Center Stage in Colorful Action Game

Rounding out Deck13 Spotlight’s lineup is Pocket Wheels, a 3D action-platformer from solo developer Florian Wolf.

Planned for release in 2027 on PC and consoles, the game lets players control a variety of toy vehicles with unique movement abilities while exploring a large house filled with themed environments.

Players can race through miniature tracks, use grappling hooks, glide with wings, climb obstacles, and search for collectibles hidden throughout locations ranging from flooded bathrooms to mysterious basements.

The game combines platforming, exploration, and racing mechanics in a colorful, family-friendly setting.

Deck13 Spotlight Continues Supporting Independent Developers

Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Deck13 Interactive has built a reputation as both a game developer and publisher. Through its Deck13 Spotlight publishing label, the company works with independent studios and solo developers to help bring original games to a broader audience.

The Gamescom 2026 showcase reflects that mission, highlighting projects from developers around the world while giving attendees the opportunity to experience upcoming titles before release.

Conclusion

With hands-on demonstrations, developer meet-and-greets, and new gameplay presentations, Deck13 Spotlight’s Gamescom 2026 lineup offers a diverse selection of upcoming RPGs and action games. From the nostalgic storytelling of Full Circle and Forge of the Fae to the fast-paced exploration of Pocket Wheels, the publisher is set to showcase a wide range of independent titles scheduled to arrive over the next two years.
