Eisenstraße project – film chroniclers at Gaming and Göstling on the way

Date:

Over the last two weekends, the Eisenstraße Niederösterreich film crew has been touring the region again. The mobile studio team of Ernst Kieninger and Josef Reisinger stopped by Gaming and Göstling to collect interesting stories, ideas, and photographic and historical film material for documentary short films. “The number of visitors was extremely gratifying. There were many visitors interested in the mobile film studio on the site. There were great ideas for the short films”, said the two mayors, Renate Rakwetz (Gaming) and Fritz Fahrnberger (Göstling).

Numerous old photo albums, previously unknown short films, and personal notes were delivered to the mobile studio. Numerous contacts were also made. The Eisenstraße project team will also use the existing film material from the topoteca at Gaming and can also use Georg Perschl’s private film and photo archive from Göstling an der Ybbs. “In Göstling an der Ybbs we were already on site with some historic people and buildings,” explains project manager Ernst Kieninger.

Filming will start in spring 2023, the films will be screened in their own theatrical presentations and permanently accessible at www.filmchronisten.at. The group of ideas at Gaming ranged from the old cinema to hammer mills and mansions to the village of Nestelberg or the “Egger Buam”. In the municipality of Göstling, topics such as the life of woodcutters, skier dynasties, the Göstlinger Almen and old farms, as well as golden bells were mentioned.

The “film chroniclers” will make two special appearances this year with their electric bus in the region: on October 28 and 29 at Rathausplatz in the municipality of Scheibbs and on November 4 and 5 in Lunz am See.

The LEADER project “Film Writers” is carried out together with the neighboring region Mostviertel-Mitte and is funded by the European Union and the state of Lower Austria.
