Halo Infinite Dev Responds To Criticisms Of The Game

Date:

Microsoft has finally showcased Halo Infinite’s gameplay, but the reaction has been mixed. Some people criticized the way the game looks, which prompted Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg to point out that the game is a work-in-progress and it will improve in the lead-up to launch.

Now, Halo Infinite’s narrative experience director Dan Chosich has commented further on the fan reaction to Halo Infinite. He said on Twitter that he understands what it feels like to be let down after getting hyped about something. He wants fans to know that their concerns are “not falling on deaf ears.”

“I’ve been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to have expectations built + feel let down,” Chosich said. “I want you to know your voice matters + is heard. You’re not falling on deaf ears. I always want to live up to the legacy that Bungie pioneered. I personally care a lot about honoring that.”

People have commented that Halo Infinite’s visuals look “flat” and not all that impressive, despite Microsoft touting the power of the Xbox Series X. Developer 343 Industries is taking some of the feedback in stride, even embracing the Craig the Brute meme.

In addition to gamers, some brands are getting involved in dunking on Microsoft for the Halo Infinite reveal. The Domino’s Pizza UK Twitter account roasted Microsoft for the Halo Infinite graphics.

Halo Infinite will get better-looking after launch, as 343 is planning a ray-tracing update for sometime after release.

Halo Infinite is due to release this holiday as a launch title for the Xbox Series X. The game will also come to the standard Xbox One as well as PC. For lots more, check out GameSpot’s video overview above that covers everything you need to know about Halo Infinite.
