Blindspot Games Prepares Launch of Tactical Arena Game Based on the Infinity Universe
Canadian indie developer Blindspot Games has announced that Infinity: HexaDome Tactics will launch on Steam in fall 2026.
The Montreal-based studio revealed the release window alongside a new trailer highlighting the game’s visual upgrades, gameplay evolution, and upcoming competitive tournament plans. The title is based on the long-running Infinity universe and marks the first PC game adaptation of the franchise.
The announcement comes after roughly three years of development and multiple rounds of community testing, including closed beta phases and participation in Steam Next Fest.
Tactical Combat Meets Competitive Arena Gameplay
Infinity: HexaDome Tactics is designed as a one-on-one tactical strategy game set inside a futuristic arena known as the HexaDome.
Players build teams of champions with unique combat abilities, roles, and synergies before facing opponents in both PvE and PvP modes on a compact hexagonal battlefield.
Unlike traditional tactical games focused solely on eliminating enemies, the game also incorporates objective-based gameplay elements including:
- Capturing zones
- Completing sponsor objectives
- Managing crowd energy
- Building high-scoring tactical combinations
The design blends competitive esports-style presentation with turn-based strategic combat, a genre that continues attracting dedicated PC gaming audiences in North America and Europe.
Community Feedback Reshaped the Game’s Development
According to Blindspot Games, the project underwent major changes during development based on player feedback gathered through multiple testing phases.
The studio initially began with a more direct adaptation of the original board game before introducing new mechanics and adjusting the game’s structure for digital play.
Major Changes Included Arena and Gameplay Updates
Developers said they made several significant revisions, including:
- Improving graphical presentation
- Reducing the size of the HexaDome arena
- Increasing combat intensity
- Refining game balance
- Expanding gameplay mechanics
- Improving onboarding systems
The development team noted that feedback from five closed beta tests, public playtests, and Steam Next Fest participants played a major role in shaping the final version of the game.
Those adjustments ultimately extended development timelines, though the studio said the additional work helped improve the overall experience.
PvP Tournaments Will Offer Free Access and Cash Prizes
To build momentum ahead of launch, Blindspot Games is introducing a series of competitive tournaments beginning in June 2026.
The events will provide players with free access to the game’s PvP mode and offer cash prizes for participants.
The tournaments are intended to encourage community involvement while stress-testing the game’s competitive systems before launch.
Competitive tactical games have become increasingly popular on PC platforms, particularly among players interested in strategy-focused alternatives to fast-paced shooters and battle royale games.
Final Development Phase Focuses on Accessibility
The studio said the game is currently in its final polishing phase ahead of release.
Current development priorities include improving the story-driven PvE campaign and refining tutorial systems to make the experience more accessible to new players.
As tactical strategy games often involve steep learning curves, smoother onboarding has become an important focus for developers seeking broader audiences beyond hardcore strategy fans.
Blindspot Games Expands Its Presence in Tactical Gaming
Blindspot Games is based in Montreal and was founded by industry veterans with experience developing multiplayer and tactical games.
The studio operates with a 15-person team focused on creating smaller-scale, high-quality projects where developers have direct influence over gameplay and design decisions.
The company says its goal is to combine tactical depth with approachable gameplay systems while maintaining strong communication with its player community through Discord and public testing events.
Tactical Strategy Games Continue Growing on PC
The upcoming release of Infinity: HexaDome Tactics reflects continued interest in tactical and competitive strategy games on PC platforms.
While mainstream gaming increasingly emphasizes live-service shooters and large open-world experiences, turn-based tactical titles have maintained a dedicated audience thanks to their focus on strategic decision-making, competitive depth, and replayability.
By combining science fiction aesthetics, esports-inspired presentation, and objective-based combat systems, Infinity: HexaDome Tactics aims to carve out a place within the growing market for modern tactical multiplayer games.
