Mercedes-Benz unveiled an actual driving footage of an avatar-inspired insane electric vision AVTR car prototype.
The German car maker unveiled the concept earlier this year, and it didn’t even cover it with Electrec because it seemed so crazy to make it into production.
That’s still true, but Mercedes-Benz has released a live video of driving an electric car, and it’s too cool not to share it with you.
The ideas behind Vision AVTR are inspired by the idea of ”merging” movie avatars with vehicles. Unlike Navi, which merges with Mountain Banshee in flight in the movie.
But don’t worry. You don’t have to connect yourself to the car like you would with Banshee on your avatar.
The electric vehicle is controlled via the pulsation sensor on the center console.
Obviously not legal on the road today, Mercedes-Benz is trying to imagine the technology of the future.
They wrote about the concept:
“Instead of the traditional steering wheel, the multifunctional control element of the center console allows humans and machines to blend together. It’s probably conceptual, and the prototype electric powertrain is probably just a regular electric testbed for the prototype.

Just like you see the Tesla Cyber truck in action, the footage looks like CGI, but it’s a really working prototype.
It’s unlikely that these features will be incorporated into production vehicles soon or even at any time, but in my opinion it’s still a cool project.
