Principle Games, build only 8% of the structures from scratch
(ANSA) – CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, 08 JUL – The Iuav University of Venice and the Cortina D’Ampezzo City Council, with the mayor Gianpietro Ghedina and the rector Alberto Ferlenga, have signed a collaboration and research agreement in the field of protection, conservation, security and enhancement of cultural heritage, also in view of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The Milan-Cortina Games have as an innovative principle to build only 8% of the structures from scratch, in favor of an intensive remodeling of the existing structures. In line with the strategies promoted by the European Green Pact and with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, research projects will be launched for the restoration and reuse of buildings and artistic heritage, movable and immovable, cultural heritage of an area of extraordinary landscape value and naturalistic. Research activities, including operational ones, will be devoted to energy efficiency and the rehabilitation of protected buildings.
Iuav will provide support for architectural and landscape improvement strategies, including service activities for actions undertaken by the Municipality to improve and recover cultural heritage. Finally, the agreement includes the organization of national and international congresses and symposia, and the launch of shared training experiences.
To date, the Iuav is the only university that has signed a collaboration agreement with the Cortina City Council with a view to the international event. (SORT OUT).
