New free benchmark will also bring your gaming PC to its knees

Date:

Do you think your gaming PC is washed with all the waters? Then simply launch the new EzBench, which is available for free on Steam; we’ll talk more later. The new software will definitely push your system to the limit.

Free on Steam: EzBench is based on Unreal Engine 5

If you own a really powerful gaming PC, you can also play current games at maximum graphics settings and 4K resolution at solid frame rates. Both the top models from Nvidia and AMD offer sufficient performance potential.

However, if you want to push your gaming PC to its limits, you can use the 3DMark or FurMark benchmark tools. Now a new program has appeared on Steam that is supposed to get the most out of your system: ezbench.

The tool, which is available for free, can be easily downloaded through Steam and takes up almost 20GB of your storage space. According to the text of the description. The app is based on Unreal Engine 5 and uses some of the engine’s special features, such as Lumen (ray tracing-based light calculations) and Nanite.

Here’s what the free benchmark looks like on Steam:

New benchmark pushes gaming PCs to their limits

At the landmark itself, you can see a golden bird flying over a lonely island that appears to be in a small bay. The landscape is illuminated by a setting evening sun. Over all, the lighting effects of the benchmark are impressive, but that demands a lot of performance.

The video shows a system with Intel Core i9-12900K and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, and even that it achieves on average only 42fps. Thanks to the use of 8K textures, that’s not surprising either. On a system with Ryzen 9 3900X and RTX 2080 SUPER, we measured an average of just 17.2 FPS.

The developers recommend all users to at least a graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM have installed on your system. Although the program is supposed to run on less powerful systems as well, the benchmark apparently degenerates into a small slideshow.

How does your PC behave in the new benchmark? Feel free to post your scores and your system components in the comments.
