New Ikea gaming chair with air permeable design

Date:

Available from October

Ikea’s gaming range continues to grow: with Styrspel, the Swedish furniture store has announced a new gaming chair that it claims was inspired by 3D computer graphics. The chair is expected to be available from October.

Last October has IKEA launched a product line for the first time, which is aimed entirely at gamers. For this purpose, the manufacturer sometimes partnered with the Asus Republic of Gamers gaming brand, which ultimately resulted in the UPPSEL series. Under the banner Gaming 2.0, Ikea has now expanded the game range presented. Starting in October, with the Stirspel a new gaming chair will be available in physical stores and online store. The Styrspel will be available in grey/red and purple/black colors at launch.

With its unusual design, Styrspel wants to stand out from the crowd of gaming chairs. According to the manufacturer, the optics were through 3D computer graphics inspired to create a distinctive look. The entire substructure of the chair is visible and creates a certain retro-futuristic charm. A different approach is also taken when it comes to the choice of materials: instead of a continuous covering of (artificial) leather or fabric, here comes a breathable mesh to use. This should cool the body better, especially in summer, and prevent annoying sweating.

The armrests are not attached to the seat and follow the user’s movements accordingly. In addition, the position of the backrests can be adjusted. Last but not least, Ikea installed an additional one here headrest, which can be adjusted to your own height. In general, the chair should flexible be and offer many configuration options. However, the furniture store has not yet commented on all the features.
