Tickets for Pokémon GO Fest 2022 cost just under 17 euros and should bring special benefits to players. But now they are calling the event a scam.

Several comments in the poll say that they only saw one Shiny in a full day. In the eyes of fans, that’s well below Niantic’s advertised “highest chance” of shiny Pokémon. Meanwhile, an official statement from Niantic about the situation at Pokémon GO Fest 2022 is still pending.
Pokémon GO Fest 2022: The event should be a “scam” – players are extremely frustrated
First report from 05.06.2022: San Francisco – Pokémon GO Fest 2022 took place on June 4 and 5. This event has been held for several years, every summer. The GO Fest takes place all over the world and can be “visited” by all trainers. For even more rewards and bonuses, players can often purchase a ticket as well. But this year, fans are not happy about the ticket bonuses. The first word on Reddit is that Niantic scammed players out of the ticket.
Pokémon GO Fest 2022: the ticket costs 16.99 euros; These benefits should be included
This is what the ticket costs: Tickets for Pokémon GO Fest 2022 cost €16.99 in the in-game store. Trainers could buy it several weeks in advance and even give it away to their friends. Tickets were not required to participate in the event. Because you could go to Pokémon GO Fest 2022 without a ticket. But if you bought a ticket, you should get special benefits.
These perks come with a ticket: Anyone who has purchased a ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2022 received special bonuses on both days of the event. These included an increased chance of Shinys, special Pokémon that are only attracted to smoke, and Shaymin’s special research. If you didn’t have a ticket, you also didn’t get this special research, and when you used smoke, they only attracted the usual Pokémon from the respective habitats. All bonuses for ticket buyers at a glance:
- Collector challenge to all habitats
- Exclusive event medal, avatar pose, and avatar item.
- Special investigation with Shaymin
- Short Special Investigation “Welcome, Rhi!”
- Increased chance of certain Shiny Pokémon on Saturday
- In general, higher probability of shine for the event.
- Unown B, G, O, U are drawn to the smoke
- PokéStops Event Stickers
- Up to nine Raid Passes per day
- Free admission to the closing ceremony
The advantages read quite well. For this reason, some trainers also bought tickets for the Pokémon GO Fest 2022. But now the first critical voices are raised. Because the fans are not at all satisfied with the rewards received.
