PS5: Sony soll an einem Pro-Controller arbeiten – Enthüllung in den nächsten Wochen?

PS5: Sony is said to be working on a pro controller

According to recent reports, Sony is currently working on a Pro Controller for PlayStation 5. As well-known tipster Tom Henderson reports, the official unveiling could take place in the coming weeks. Henderson also gave us unconfirmed details about the new controller.

In the evening we received another interesting rumor about possible projects that Sony is supposed to be working on at the moment. As Tom Henderson, a generally well-informed tipster, reports, Sony is working on a professional controller for the PlayStation 5 that could be unveiled in the coming weeks.

According to Henderson, a source who wishes to remain anonymous gave him the first images of a prototype, suggesting that we are looking at a competitor to high-end controllers, such as Microsoft’s Xbox Elite wireless controller. Based on images made available to Henderson, the potential PlayStation 5 pro controller will have features like detachable analog sticks, paddles, and trigger stops, which are already known from other gamepads of this ilk.

For one thing, the classic PlayStation controller button layout should be retained. At the same time, however, buttons have been placed below the analog sticks that will allow the user to remove or change the analog sticks.

Detachable grips, software updates and more

Aside from the trigger stops, the paddles on the back are one of the pro controller’s biggest innovations. Paddles are standard equipment on gamepads like the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller or SCUF Controller and allow you to place additional key commands on them, for example. Additionally, the prototype PlayStation 5 Pro controller will feature detachable grips and the ability to upgrade the gamepad with software updates.

Sources could not confirm when the official reveal of the PlayStation 5 Pro controller can be expected. However, it is assumed that it could be “soon”. An official statement or even a confirmation from Sony Interactive Entertainment is still pending at this time.
