Robert Lewandowski presents his video game project / Germany / Bayern / SOFOOT.com

After KB9 for the Ballon d’Or, Football Manager became Robert Lewandowski’s rival.

Soccer coach: the game. The name is a small free mobile game that bypasses a well-known license, but behind the development team hides the man with 60 goals in 2021. The game aims to be much more ambitious than its summarized title, and clearly seeks to move away from the license in vogue in recent years, Football Manager. Here, RL9.Games, the name of the Polish international’s development studio, places great emphasis on the aspect of role-playing games (RPG).

Selection of trainer classes, attribute cards for players that grant certain powers, management of their character’s privacy, creation of their stadium and infrastructures … So many things taken from the world of role-playing games that give this Trainer of Football a touch of unknown. With a much more arcade look and less pure management than FM, the other big ambition is that most of this game has to be played against other players, even though the developers have promised a single player mode. No release date or prices listed, just a first video ad and the ability to put it on the platform’s wish list Steam.

If he ever misses the ballon d’or, RL9 can always aim for the Pegasus.
