Sony presents HT-A9, the new frontier of surround sound, designed for an unprecedented immersive experience made possible by the new 360 Spatial Sound.
Sony’s exclusive 360 spatial sound mapping technology
Revolutionary 360 spatial sound from HT-A9spreads sounds to all corners of the room. The intelligent Sound Field Optimization system measures the height and position of each of the four speakers and, based on the position, synthesizes the sound waves to create the effect of 12 virtual speakers, generating three hundred and sixty degrees of audio.
With the new system HT-A9, sounds take on a new dimension. Surrounding the viewer on all sides within an optimized sound field, the “phantom” loudspeakers reproduce the sounds of animals or gusts of wind with such intensity that they are transported to the center of the scene. Thanks to the “phantom” speakers, the spatial sound field becomes wider and more enveloping than ever.
HT-A9 it’s also compatible with Dolby Atmos® and DTS: X® formats, to experience the thrills of cinematic surround sound right in the living room.
Versatile setup in any living room
With HT-A9, without the need to move furniture or speakers: through two microphones integrated in each unit, Sound Field Optimization technology calculates the height and position of the speakers and automatically generates 12 virtual ones, placing them in the ideal points to fill the room with immersive audio by 360 Spatial Sound. To activate Sound Field Optimization, simply perform Quick Setup from the TV’s main menu at any time, when installing the system or even after months.
The connection between the four speakers and the central unit is wireless, to avoid the presence of annoying cables in the living room.
New speaker concept
HT-A9It is designed with cutting-edge technologies capable of achieving sound quality equivalent to 360 Spatial Sound Mapping. The speakers are equipped with X-Balanced Speaker units that, being rectangular in shape, widen the diaphragm area as much as possible to deliver fuller bass, without compromising vocal clarity and sound pressure. The new wide directivity woofer also limits the cavity effect, minimizing the thickness of the concave shape. In this way, the 19mm soft dome tweeter emits crystalline and natural sounds at high frequencies that, added to the audio emitted by the speakers facing upwards and reflected from the ceiling, create a 100% immersive effect. The edges of the speakers are also beveled to reduce diffraction.
Ultra deep bass with optional subwoofers
The addition of an optional subwoofer to manage low frequencies enables the system to deliver powerful and impressive bass. Two models are available, both designed to enhance low-range notes, vocal clarity, and sonic fidelity: the subwoofer. SA-SW5 outputs 300W of rich, deep sound from a 180mm driver with passive radiator, while the compact Bass Reflex subwoofer SA-SW3 it has a power of 200W and a 160mm driver.
Total immersion in excellent musical quality
With speakers of this caliber, music reaches extraordinary levels. If Hi-Res Audio reproduces songs exactly as the artist intended, innovative 360 Reality Audio provides an immersive experience, giving the impression of being at a live concert or recording studio. 360 Reality Audio content can be enjoyed on Amazon Music HD, Deezer, nugs.net, and TIDAL platforms. The speakers also use DSEE Extreme technologyTM, which uses source-applied artificial intelligence (Edge-AI) to upscale compressed digital files in real time and restore damaged high frequencies, delivering full and satisfying listening.
