RedOctane Games has opened digital pre-orders for Stage Tour, its upcoming music rhythm game scheduled for release on December 10, 2026. The title will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, featuring more than 90 songs, multiple gameplay modes, and support for traditional instrument controllers, gamepads, and keyboards.
The San Francisco-based studio announced the pre-order launch on October 14, confirming a 10% discount on digital purchases ahead of release. The standard digital edition is priced at $39.99 in the United States.
Stage Tour Introduces Flexible Controls and New Arcade Modes
Developed by veterans of the original rhythm gaming era alongside contemporary developers and community creators, Stage Tour aims to combine familiar music game mechanics with more accessible control options.
The game’s central design philosophy, “Play Your Way,” allows players to participate without purchasing dedicated guitar or drum controllers.
Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane Gameplay
Two new gameplay options, Arcade 4-Lane and Arcade 5-Lane, are designed specifically for standard gamepads and gaming keyboards.
Unlike traditional rhythm game charts that focus on individual instruments, Arcade mode combines elements from guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and other musical parts into dedicated note charts.
Every song in the launch lineup will support both Arcade formats across all difficulty levels.
Players can participate individually or in groups of up to four, using combinations of supported controllers and instruments. Multiplayer options include local sessions, online play, and cross-platform multiplayer.
More Than 90 Songs Across Six Decades of Music
Stage Tour will feature a soundtrack spanning six decades, covering rock, metal, alternative, pop, and other genres.
Confirmed artists include The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Radiohead, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mötley Crüe, Paramore, and Olivia Rodrigo.
RedOctane Games has revealed 61 tracks through its ongoing setlist announcement series, with additional songs expected to be announced before launch.
New Tour Campaign and Additional Game Modes
Alongside established modes such as Quickplay and Practice, Stage Tour introduces Judgements, which emphasizes playing accuracy, and Karaoke, designed for more casual participation.
The game also features Tour, a roguelite-inspired single-player campaign in which players progress from smaller venues to major arenas.
Players earn Stars to purchase Effect Pedals and Consumables, which provide gameplay modifiers and strategic advantages.
Each campaign run presents different challenges, while failing a song requires players to restart their journey. Additional details about Tour mode are expected closer to release.
Legacy Guitar Hero and Rock Band Controllers Supported
One of the game’s notable features is compatibility with instruments from earlier generations of rhythm games.
On PC, Stage Tour supports more than 50 guitar controllers and 20 drum kits, including selected hardware dating back to 2006.
Supported equipment includes instruments associated with the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises, along with newer PDP Riffmaster and CRKD controllers.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will support selected current-generation and previous-generation instruments, including Rock Band 4 guitars and drums.
Compatibility varies by platform and device. RedOctane Games plans to continue evaluating additional instruments and updating its supported hardware list.
Gibson Partnership Brings New Guitar Controllers and Bundles
RedOctane Games has partnered with Gibson to introduce official Stage Tour hardware, including the Kramer Wireless Guitar Controller.
The Stage Tour Kramer Guitar + Game Bundle starts at $129.99 in the United States.
The package includes a wireless guitar controller and the game, provided as a digital download for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, or a physical disc for PlayStation 5.
Additional Guitar and Band Equipment
Other available packages include two-guitar bundles and complete band kits featuring the official Stage Tour Drum Kit and wired or wireless microphones.
The CRKD x Stage Tour Collection also includes officially licensed Gibson guitar controllers inspired by Les Paul, SG, and Explorer designs.
Within the game, players will have access to more than 180 authentic guitar models from Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer, alongside more than 50 bandmates.
