And so Abby’s introduction and quick playable concentrations comes early on, right before Joel’s death sends Ellie on her revenge quest to Seattle.

Druckmann described how Abby’s role basically shrank from before iterations of the sequel’s tale, but that in the end the workforce settled on a playable portion that felt extended ample to convey what was essential.

“Abby was the strategy that built us want to make this activity about empathy, interactivity recognizing we could use Joel and Ellie to generate that sensation right at the starting,” he said. “Her position really saved shrinking and shrinking right until we thought this is the proper amount for what we require you to experience about Abby.”
