Valve accidentally shows the Switch emulator in the trailer

This should be an interesting conversation between Valve and Nintendo. An emulator for Switch games can be seen in a video about the availability of the Steam Deck and the new Dock. The clip has since been reviewed.

Valve’s portable Steam Deck can now play both regular and unreserved request – and finally the official port is available, with which the console can be connected to various peripheral devices. To celebrate, Valve released a new trailer that once again communicates the aforementioned positive news to the public. However, the clip contained a big mistake because at one point there was an app installed on the Steam Deck that Valve probably would have preferred not to show.

Valve apparently uses an emulator for Switch games

Like the well-known Twitter account of Nibel reveals, in the video you can see an emulator for Nintendo Switch. In addition to Steam titles such as Vampire Survivors and Hades, the Yuzu app icon is stamped, with which games for Nintendo’s hybrid console can also be played on the Steam Deck. The trailer has now been set to private and replaced with a Revised version substituted. Ironically, by the time Steam Deck was released, videos showing off Switch titles on handheld were already circulating the web.

In line with this topic:

Emulation is a topic that heats up quickly. On the one hand, software like Yuzu can of course be used to use games illegally. On the other hand – and that’s probably the case in this case – titles you already own can be used on different hardware. However, Nintendo naturally does not want such an app to be seen in an official Valve trailer and thus draw public attention. But it’s probably too late for that.
