On the website microsoft.com (at the bottom of the Compatibility Checked block) you can finally download a tool that will verify that your computer is ready for Windows 11.
Microsoft released it in June alongside the first trial version of the Eleven, but it was broken and did not show what caused the incompatibility. A new version was released last month, but only users involved in Windows Insider were able to test it. So far, the tool is available to everyone.
Look it up on the official website with the name Checking the PC status, after installation in the Czech version of Windows, it will be called Checking the status of the personal computer. Once launched, click on the top bar Check it now.
When everything is in order, you will write only briefly This computer meets the requirements of Windows 11. If there is a problem, they will report it. This computer does not currently meet the requirements for Windows 11. In points, then list what the problem is.
For all items to have green tubing, you will need to have:
- Computer with active UEFI / Secure boot
- TPM 2.0 chip available and active
- Processor with at least two cores and a clock speed of at least 1 GHz
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- At least 64 GB of storage
- In the case of a processor, the age / generation is still marked. 8th Gen Intel Core, AMD Ryzen 2000 and later versions are supported
Upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 is free, but Windows Update doesn’t even offer it on an incompatible computer. It is possible to work around the limitation by installing the system with a USB flash drive or DVD, but it will not offer you further updates anyway. If you stay in the Ten, they have guaranteed support until October 14, 2025.
