Nintendo changes rules for automatic renewal of Nintendo Switch online memberships – ntower

Date:

While online services for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U were free, Nintendo has required a subscription since 2018 for fans to play online games on Nintendo Switch. The program will fit nintendo switch online and was updated last October with the option of an expansion pack.

If you complete an NSO membership, the settings in Nintendo are set so that your subscription automatically renews. You can change this setting at any time later. Nintendo also sends an email to its customers some time before the renewal so that they are informed in time about the impending debit. British Competition and Markets Authority, short for CMA, was not happy with this option. Now Nintendo has relented and the proposals of the competition authority accepted. Automatic renewals for newly concluded Nintendo Switch Online memberships should be disabled by default in the future, so you need to enable auto continue manually. However, it is not known if this also applies to Pokémon HOME premium membership, for example if the subscription is made through the Nintendo eShop.

Do you automatically renew your Nintendo Switch Online membership?
