Deckbuilding roguelike Deck of Haunts will expand to consoles on Oct. 8, 2026, bringing its unusual haunted-house strategy gameplay to Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox players. Publisher DANGEN Entertainment and developer Mantis Games announced that the console editions will incorporate more than a year of updates and additions released since the game’s PC debut.
The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with the expanded content available to console players from day one.
Deck of Haunts Sets October 8 Console Release
Deck of Haunts puts players in control of a malevolent haunted house rather than the people attempting to survive inside it. Players construct and customize their mansion, build decks of supernatural abilities and use traps, rooms and creatures to terrorize visitors.
A new Console Release Date Trailer accompanied the announcement, highlighting the expanded version headed to consoles.
The console launch follows the game’s original PC release in May 2025. Since then, Mantis Games has introduced additional cards, rooms, creatures and gameplay systems while making broader changes based in part on community feedback.
Those updates will be included in the console versions rather than being introduced gradually after launch.
More Than a Year of PC Updates Included
The current version of Deck of Haunts is substantially larger than the game that originally arrived on PC.
Updates have added new game modes and dozens of cards, along with additional rooms and supernatural creatures. The developers have also introduced missions and story elements, expanded deck customization and changed how players construct their haunted mansions.
New Cards, Rooms and Starter Decks
Console players will have access to a larger selection of cards and rooms, creating additional options for designing both a deck and the physical layout of the haunted house.
New starter decks support different approaches to play, while players can also assemble customized starting decks using cards they have unlocked.
The expanded progression system incorporates missions that reward players with cards, rooms, upgrades, cosmetics and gameplay modifiers. Missions can also reveal additional lore about the House and the supernatural entities associated with it.
Mansion Design Plays a Larger Strategic Role
Room construction and human navigation have also been revised.
Room size now influences how visitors move through the mansion, making architectural decisions a more significant part of the strategy. Players must consider not only which rooms they build but also how their layouts affect the movement of potential victims.
Several quality-of-life improvements have also been made to building, sorting, navigation and the overall interface. Controller systems have received additional refinements ahead of the console release.
Nightmare Mode Adds Escalating Challenges
One of the larger additions is Nightmare Mode, which presents players with 13 escalating Nightmares consisting of 13 nights each.
Modifiers accumulate as players progress, increasing the difficulty and introducing additional threats. Players can also collect the souls of their victims and eventually summon the Grim Reaper, unleashing Death on visitors trapped inside the mansion.
Supernatural Creatures Join the House
Players are not limited to traps and supernatural cards when defending their haunted property.
Deck of Haunts features several creatures that can be deployed against human visitors, including the Imp, Gravetender, Webweaver, Drowner, Bloodletter and Krampus.
Curated scenarios provide another variation on the standard experience, placing players in specially designed haunted-house situations with different setups and challenges.
Seasonal Content Expands the Haunted Mansion
Seasonal updates released following the PC launch have introduced additional themed rooms and mechanics.
The Pumpkin Patch, for example, allows stored attacks to be unleashed against unsuspecting visitors. The Workshop serves as the home of Krampus, who can transform the corpses of victims into presents for the House.
These additions join the broader selection of content accumulated since the game’s initial 2025 release.
With its Oct. 8 console launch, Deck of Haunts will bring the expanded version of its deckbuilding and haunted-house management formula to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, giving console players access to more than a year of post-launch additions from the start.
