Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger’s Call Launch on Nintendo Switch 2 With New Features and Performance Upgrades

Date:

Japanese publisher Shueisha Games has released two mystery-focused adventure games for Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger’s Call to Nintendo’s latest console on October 29, 2026.

The announcement followed Nintendo’s Indie World presentation on October 28, where the publisher revealed new features for both titles, including Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, an artwork gallery and improved visual performance.

Both games are available as standalone purchases, while existing Nintendo Switch owners can access their respective Switch 2 upgrades for a reduced fee.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Adds New Features

Urban Myth Dissolution Center, developed by Japanese independent studio Hakababunko, originally launched on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam on February 13, 2025.

The mystery adventure later expanded to iOS and Android on March 19, 2026.

Its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition introduces features designed to take advantage of the newer console’s capabilities while retaining the original game’s investigative experience.

Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls Improve Investigation Gameplay

One of the most notable additions is support for Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality.

The control option allows players to interact with investigation sequences using more direct pointer-based input.

For a mystery adventure built around examining information and solving cases, the feature provides an alternative to conventional controller navigation.

The new edition also introduces a Gallery mode, allowing players to revisit artwork from the game whenever they choose.

This addition provides access to the title’s distinctive visual presentation, which combines pixel art with mystery storytelling.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing and Upgrade Options

Shueisha Games announced a Japanese price of 2,080 yen, including tax, for Urban Myth Dissolution Center Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Players who already own the Nintendo Switch version can purchase an upgrade pack for 100 yen, including tax.

The publisher also lists the original game’s Japanese pricing at 3,740 yen for the physical edition and 1,980 yen for the digital edition.

U.S. pricing may differ from the announced Japanese prices.

Schrödinger’s Call Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 With 60 FPS Support

Alongside Urban Myth Dissolution Center, Shueisha Games has released a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Schrödinger’s Call.

Developed by Acrobatic Chirimenjako, the story-driven adventure originally launched on May 28, 2026.

The game features an illustrated storybook presentation and emphasizes emotional storytelling through its narrative and cinematic direction.

The new version introduces technical improvements intended to provide a smoother experience on Nintendo’s latest hardware.

Full HD Resolution and Higher Frame Rates

According to Shueisha Games, Schrödinger’s Call now supports Full HD visuals during gameplay outside of movie sequences.

The Nintendo Switch 2 edition also increases the frame rate from 30 frames per second to 60 frames per second.

The improvement doubles the stated frame rate of the original version, providing smoother animation and gameplay presentation.

The upgraded edition is priced at 2,480 yen in Japan, including tax.

Existing Nintendo Switch owners can purchase the Switch 2 upgrade for 100 yen, including tax.

The game supports Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

Shueisha Games Plans Steam Bundle Featuring Both Titles

Shueisha Games also confirmed plans to introduce a Steam bundle combining Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger’s Call.

The package will bring together two narrative-focused adventure games from independent Japanese developers.

The publisher has not yet announced the bundle’s release date or pricing.

Additional information is expected through the company’s official social media channels.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center Builds on Award-Winning Success

Developer Hakababunko is known for its mystery storytelling and distinctive pixel-art presentation.

The studio previously developed the Wakaidō Makoto’s Case Files series and received the Shueisha Game Creators CAMP Award at the Google Play Indie Games Festival 2021.

That recognition helped establish its partnership with Shueisha Games.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center subsequently received an Award for Excellence at the Japan Game Awards 2025.

The title supports multiple languages, including English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Korean and Brazilian Portuguese.

Schrödinger’s Call Marks Acrobatic Chirimenjako’s Debut

Schrödinger’s Call is the debut project from Acrobatic Chirimenjako, a three-person independent development team.

The studio focuses on cinematic presentation and emotionally driven storytelling.

Its debut game previously received the grand prize at Shueisha Game Creators CAMP GAME BBQ vol.1.

Nintendo Switch 2 Expands Its Independent Game Library

The simultaneous releases of Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger’s Call add two narrative-driven titles to the Nintendo Switch 2 library.

Both releases offer existing Switch owners low-cost upgrade options, while introducing new functionality or performance improvements for the latest hardware.

With enhanced controls, additional artwork access and smoother gameplay, the releases demonstrate how independent developers are adapting existing games for Nintendo’s newer console while continuing to reach audiences across multiple platforms.
