Farever Launches in Steam Early Access With Expansive Online Co-Op Fantasy World

Date:

Shiro Games Introduces New Multiplayer Action RPG Set in the Open World of Siagarta

French independent studio Shiro Games has officially launched Farever in Early Access on Steam, giving PC players an opportunity to explore its large-scale fantasy world either solo or with friends online.

The multiplayer action RPG marks the latest project from the developer behind strategy and role-playing titles including Northgard, Wartales, and Dune: Spice Wars. With cooperative gameplay, open-world exploration, and class-based combat, Farever enters a competitive RPG market that continues to see strong demand from players looking for shared online experiences.

Players Can Explore the Vast Fantasy World of Siagarta

Open-World Gameplay Focuses on Exploration and Cooperative Adventures

Set in the fantasy realm of Siagarta, Farever allows players to travel freely across large interconnected regions featuring multiple biomes, hidden dungeons, enemy encounters, and collectible treasures.

The game emphasizes movement and exploration mechanics commonly found in modern open-world titles. Players can climb cliffs, glide across canyons and valleys, and explore underground or underwater caverns while searching for gear and secrets scattered throughout the environment.

According to Shiro Games, nearly every part of the world is designed to reward exploration with evolving content, equipment upgrades, and hidden discoveries.

The game can be played alone or cooperatively through online multiplayer, allowing groups of players to tackle quests, enemy encounters, and large boss fights together.

Four Starting Classes Available During Early Access

Character Builds Center Around Gear, Skills, and Combat Roles

At launch, Farever includes four starting classes, with additional options planned for the full 1.0 release. Each class supports a different combat style, including damage-focused, support-oriented, and survivability-based roles.

Players can customize their characters through a combination of weapons, talents, and abilities that shape combat strategy and progression.

Gear progression plays a major role in the game’s design. Equipment pieces unlock passive bonuses, combat effects, and build synergies intended to encourage experimentation and diverse playstyles. Shiro Games says the system is designed to give players flexibility in creating unique combat identities rather than forcing rigid class structures.

Team-based gameplay also factors heavily into combat encounters. Players can coordinate abilities and tactics while facing stronger enemies and boss encounters that require timing and cooperation.

Dynamic Scaling Supports Solo and Group Play

Crafting and Resource Gathering Add Long-Term Progression

One of the game’s core systems is dynamic activity scaling, which adjusts enemy difficulty and encounters based on party size. The feature is intended to make gameplay balanced for both solo players and larger online groups.

Between expeditions, players return to town hubs where they can craft equipment, improve gear, and gather rare resources. Consumables such as potions and support items can also be created to help prepare for more difficult missions and battles.

The gameplay structure reflects broader trends in the online RPG market, where cooperative progression systems and crafting mechanics continue to attract players seeking long-term engagement beyond traditional single-player campaigns.

Shiro Games Plans Community-Driven Development During Early Access

Studio Says Player Feedback Will Shape Future Updates

Shiro Games says community feedback will play a significant role during the Early Access period as the studio expands the game ahead of its full launch.

“Today’s Early Access launch marks the beginning of an exciting new adventure,” said Nicolas Cannasse, CEO of Shiro Games. “We’re proud to build Farever alongside our community and evolve the game throughout Early Access with player feedback. After all, what’s an adventure without adventurers?”

The studio has built a strong following in recent years through a mix of strategy and role-playing games. Northgard, its Viking-themed strategy title released in 2018, sold more than three million copies across platforms, while Wartales gained attention for its tactical RPG gameplay and post-launch downloadable content expansions.

Farever Available Now on Steam for PC

Farever is currently available in Early Access for PC via Steam at a launch price of $19.99. The game supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

As online cooperative RPGs continue to remain popular among U.S. and global audiences, Farever enters the market aiming to combine open-world exploration, customizable combat systems, and community-driven development into a long-term multiplayer experience.
