Telekom users breathe a sigh of relief: According to their own statements, the provider has corrected a bug nationwide. Thousands of customers were affected.
At Deutsche Telecom it’s been drastic for hours on tuesday disturbance given in the mobile network. There were also errors in the phone calls. SMS and moving box through that LTEnetwork, said a spokesman for Telekom in the request for t-online.
According to Telekom, this should be fixed. “Mobile telephony via LTE is working properly again,” the spokesperson wrote to t-online late at night. “We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience, as we unfortunately did not meet our own standards today.”
Thousands of customers affected
Hundreds of reports from all over Germany have been received on the portal “allestoerungen.de” since Tuesday morning. Users reported that they could not make any calls from the cell phone for a few hours, even that landline apparently affected. Of problems with the mobile Internet reported fewer users.
By late afternoon, the reports died down, but there were still isolated messages on the portal. Therefore, it is questionable when all Telekom users will be able to make calls without interference again.
With your iPhone, the call setup works automatically after about 20 seconds, and the smartphone jumps to the 2G network. On an Android phone, you’ll need to disable “Voice over LTE” in settings to be able to make calls if you’re still having trouble.
Speaker: “Internal Software Error”
Telekom did not comment on the exact reasons for the problems. The outage was initially suspected to be related to the fallout from the weekend storms. The spokesperson wrote about an “internal software bug” that technicians had identified, but has now been fixed.
There were also disturbances in Congstar’s mobile network, the provider uses the same networks as a second Telekom brand.
