Gmail and some other Google services failed

Some Android users had problems with the devices on Tuesday, and some of the US giant’s tools, including email, failed. Gmail Gmail. The riots lasted about eight hours.

The problem was caused by a component in the Android system called Android WebView that allows Android applications to display web content.

Some users, even before Google took action, noted that the problem could be fixed by removing the latest WebView update and restarting the phone.

Google also released a revised update for WebView and Chrome on Tuesday.

“Users can now update WebView to version 89.0.4389.105 and Chrome to the latest version through the Google Play platform. They can find the Android system WebView tool in the Play Store, select the” Update “button and repeat these steps with Chrome, the company says on its blog.

Thousands of users around the world reported outages on their social media accounts on Tuesday. On Tuesday around noon in Lithuania, Google said it had removed them.
