IllFonic’s asymmetrical stealth horror game brings Michael Myers to Haddonfield, with physical editions scheduled for October 6.
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — September 8, 2026 — Halloween: The Game, an asymmetrical stealth horror title developed and published by IllFonic and co-published with Gun Interactive, Compass International Pictures and Further Front, is now available digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The game launches in Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions, priced at $39.99 and $59.99, respectively. Physical editions are scheduled to arrive October 6, although the Limited Collector’s Edition has already sold out.
Michael Myers Returns to Haddonfield
Set on Halloween night in 1978, the game recreates the atmosphere of the original Halloween while giving players multiple ways to experience the horror.
A six-chapter single-player story, narrated by Dr. Sam Loomis, explores how Michael Myers acquired his signature blue jumpsuit, mask and kitchen knife. Players can also revisit the infamous babysitter encounter through a sandbox-style experience that rewards patient, methodical and brutal approaches.
1v4 Multiplayer Pits Michael Against Haddonfield Residents
The multiplayer component features 1v4 matches in which one player takes control of Michael Myers while four others play as civilians attempting to survive.
As Michael, players can stalk residents, use stealth and take advantage of shadows while hunting victims across Haddonfield.
Civilian players must work together to warn other residents, call the police, find household items to use for protection and attempt to overpower Michael long enough for everyone to escape.
Unreal Engine 5 Powers the Horror Experience
Halloween: The Game is built with Unreal Engine 5 and features dynamic map elements, distinct gameplay systems, interactive non-player characters and detailed environments.
The game’s design is intended to create a flexible horror sandbox where encounters can develop differently depending on how players approach each situation.
“Everyone at Compass is thrilled to see this game get to longtime fans of the Michael Myers universe. It’s also been extremely exciting to see a whole new generation of fans find their way into Haddonfield. I cannot wait to see you all in the game,” said Malek Akkad, president of Compass International Pictures Inc.
“Seeing Halloween: The Game finally in the community’s hands is the payoff of years of work honoring Moustapha Akkad and John Carpenter’s legacies,” said Jared Gerritzen, chief creative officer at IllFonic. “For anyone who wants Michael Myers on their shelf as well as their consoles, the physical edition will be out just in time for Halloween. We hope fans have as much fun this October as we had recreating the terrifying events of 1978!”
Physical Editions Arrive in October
The physical release of Halloween: The Game is scheduled for October 6. The Limited Collector’s Edition has sold out, while the Standard Edition is also planned for physical release.
The game carries an ESRB rating of M for Mature 17+ and supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Korean and Brazilian Portuguese.
