Mac Gaming: Nvidia Optimizes GeForce Now for M1 Macs +++ “Disney Dreamlight Valley” Announced | News

Date:

Nvidia GeForce Now gets M1 support
Nvidia has made its in-house cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, Mac-friendly with an Apple silicon chip. As of the new version 2.0.40, the associated application runs natively on Apple computers with M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max and M1 Ultra. Previously, Nvidia’s software only worked on the corresponding Macs with the help of the Rosetta 2 emulation tool, which was associated with a number of drawbacks, such as the app’s comparatively long startup times.

Nvidia goes in the associate blog post about the improvements brought by the native support of M1. According to the graphics card vendor, the new version of GeForce Now significantly reduces application power requirements, which is particularly beneficial for mobile Macs and battery life. Users also benefit from faster app launch times and generally better performance when running. The user experience is significantly increased on M1 Macs, such as MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac minis, according to the manufacturer. However, native M1 support has less of an impact on the actual gaming performance of titles available through GeForce Now than other areas of the software, as available games run in Nvidia data centers and are streamed. to the respective Mac via a cloud connection.

Other innovations in GeForce Now 2.0.40 include another way to find suitable games faster. To this end, Nvidia has placed a “Genre” bar below the “Games” menu, which customers can use to search for the titles of their choice.

“Disney Dreamlight Valley” also intended for Pixar fans
Speaking of gaming on the Mac: the software company Gameloft has announced an ambitious game that will not only be released for PCs and consoles, but also for Apple computers. We are talking about “Disney Dreamlight Valley”. In the combination of role-playing game and life simulation, players will meet many characters, places and other things from Disney and Pixar movies, such as “Beauty and the Beast”, “Cinderella”, “Monsters, Inc.”, “The lion”. Rey”, “WALL-E”, “Toy Story” and many more. Series such as DuckTales are also represented. The character can be designed according to the individual wishes of the user.

Disney Dreamlight Valley will be released exclusively for Xbox in Summer 2022 as an “Early Access” title. The final version for Mac, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox will be released in 2023, although an exact date has not yet been set.
