There seems to be still plans for Need for Speed, as recent job openings at the Tencent Games suggest that the mobile device developer TiMi Studios and EA are collaborating to create a new open world online mobile game called Need for Speed Online Mobile, which will apparently be based on Unreal Engine 4. This was first noticed on Reddit, and according to the job listing on Tencent’s careers page, the studio is looking to hire 3D animators, design specialists, game planners, and manager. of projects in Shenzen and Carry by force. The original worklist is in Chinese, but according to the translation of gamingonphone, one of the positions seeks to cover the following responsibilities:
“The design of the various game modes of the realistic big world racing mobile game or the design of the 3C racing experience; compile various related design plans and application lists; decision-making and monitoring of various tasks in the R + D + i process to ensure quality and fluid communication within the group; follow Advance and analyze statistical data, formulate follow-up optimization plans based on data and feedback, and follow specific development. ”
The above worklist indicates the fact that the game can be developed as a title for mobile devices only and it will be set in an open environment for players to explore. TiMi is best known for developing games like Call of Duty Mobile, Pokemon Unite, and Arena of Valor, all three games made for mobile devices. With EA’s involvement, you could follow suit from the 2010 PC MMO Need for Speed: World. Neither EA nor TiMi have confirmed any of this at this time, but hopefully more information will be revealed in the near future, so stay tuned.
