Neon Abyss 2 Targets Full PC and Console Release This Fall With Four-Player Co-Op

Date:

Neon Abyss 2 is preparing to leave Early Access and make the jump to a full 1.0 release this fall, bringing Veewo Games’ fast-paced cybermyth roguelike to PC and major consoles. The studio announced the plans during the Future Games Show, confirming expanded platform support and day-one Game Pass availability.

Neon Abyss 2 Expands Beyond Steam Early Access

Veewo Games announced on August 26 that Neon Abyss 2 will receive its full release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this fall.

The game initially entered Steam Early Access in 2025, giving the development team an opportunity to refine its systems and expand its content with feedback from the player community.

The 1.0 launch will also bring Neon Abyss 2 to Game Pass on day one, giving Xbox and PC subscribers another way to access the roguelike action-platformer.

A new trailer shown during the Future Games Show offered another look at the colorful, chaotic combat and cyberpunk-inspired environments players will encounter.

A Cyberpunk Roguelike Built Around Revenge

Set in New Athens, Neon Abyss 2 sends players into a pixel-art world that blends futuristic technology with mythology. The story centers on a quest for revenge as players descend deeper into the Abyss and confront old and new gods.

Death is an expected part of the experience. Like other games in the roguelike genre, each attempt challenges players to adapt their tactics, experiment with different equipment and prepare for increasingly dangerous encounters.

The sequel expands on the action-platforming foundation of the original Neon Abyss while introducing additional weapons, characters, enemies and gameplay systems.

Early Access Updates Shaped the Abyss

Veewo Games has continued expanding the game since its Early Access debut. Major updates including Fatal Carnival and Glimmer Heist introduced new content while incorporating feedback from players.

Those updates have added bosses, weapon rarities, accessories, playable agents and additional game modes.

The studio said development ahead of version 1.0 remains focused on refining existing systems and expanding the overall amount of content available in the Abyss.

Four-Player Co-Op Adds More Chaos

One of the sequel’s major additions is its four-player cooperative mode. Players can enter the Abyss together and combine different weapons, abilities and approaches during a run.

Combat supports both close-range and ranged playstyles, allowing players to experiment with powerful melee weapons or build an arsenal focused on ranged attacks.

The multiplayer system is designed around the same unpredictable structure as the single-player experience, meaning groups must adapt as weapons, enemies and other variables change during each descent.

Players are also accompanied by Hatchmon, creatures that assist them as they travel deeper into the game’s hostile world.

Community Feedback Remains Part of Development

Veewo Games said it plans to continue improving Neon Abyss 2 before the full release. The studio is concentrating on balancing gameplay systems, adding content and responding to feedback gathered during Early Access.

That development approach has allowed the team to test new ideas before the game reaches its 1.0 milestone.

The upcoming release will also significantly broaden the game’s audience by moving beyond Steam to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Neon Abyss 2 Heads Toward Version 1.0

Founded in 2011 and based in Xiamen, China, Veewo Games previously developed titles including Neon Abyss, Super Phantom Cat and Super Phantom Cat 2.

With its full release planned for this fall, Neon Abyss 2 is moving into the final stage of its Early Access development. The 1.0 version will bring its cyberpunk roguelike action, four-player co-op and expanded content to PC and consoles, while its day-one Game Pass launch will provide another entry point for players.
