Upcoming Family Adventure Game Expands the PAW Patrol Universe Ahead of New Movie Release
Outright Games and Nickelodeon have released the first gameplay trailer for PAW Patrol: Dino World, offering a closer look at the dinosaur-themed adventure arriving July 31, 2026.
The game is inspired by PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, which is scheduled to premiere globally in theaters in August 2026. The title will launch across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The new footage introduces additional playable pups, explorable regions on Dino Island, cooperative gameplay features, and several familiar characters from the long-running children’s franchise.
New Trailer Highlights Playable Characters and Dino Island
The gameplay reveal expands beyond previously announced characters Chase, Marshall, and Skye by introducing additional playable pups including Zuma, Rubble, and Rocky.
Each character features unique tools and abilities tied to exploration and rescue missions throughout Dino Island.
Character Abilities Focus on Teamwork
According to Outright Games, each pup will assist players in different gameplay scenarios:
- Zuma can swim and perform underwater rescues
- Rubble uses a jackhammer to clear blocked paths
- Rocky repairs machinery and restores damaged routes
The gameplay design emphasizes teamwork and problem-solving, core themes that have remained central to the PAW Patrol franchise since its debut.
Dino Plains Introduced as First Major Play Area
The trailer also reveals Dino Plains, the first explorable region showcased from Dino Island.
The environment includes open valleys, rocky terrain, and water-based areas designed to highlight each pup’s unique vehicles and movement abilities.
Developers said additional areas of Dino Island will be revealed closer to launch.
The prehistoric setting represents one of the franchise’s larger-scale adventure themes, blending dinosaur exploration with the rescue-focused gameplay familiar to younger fans.
Familiar Characters Return Alongside New Additions
Players will encounter several recurring PAW Patrol characters during the adventure.
Ryder returns to coordinate rescue missions across Dino Island, while paleontologists Eugenia and Heidi — characters introduced in the upcoming film — also appear throughout the game.
Dinosaurs populate the island and play an active role in missions, environmental interactions, and exploration activities designed for younger audiences.
The inclusion of movie tie-ins reflects the growing trend of coordinated entertainment releases that connect films, games, toys, and streaming content into broader multimedia franchises.
Designed for Younger Players and Families
PAW Patrol: Dino World is being developed specifically for preschool-age players and family audiences.
The game includes simplified controls, exploration-focused gameplay, and optional two-player cooperative play that allows parents, siblings, or friends to participate together.
Family-oriented games continue to represent an important segment of the gaming industry, particularly on Nintendo Switch and console platforms where accessible multiplayer titles remain popular with younger households.
Cooperative Gameplay Continues Growing in Family Gaming
The addition of couch co-op gameplay aligns with broader demand for games designed around shared family experiences rather than exclusively online competition.
As younger audiences increasingly engage with video games through established children’s entertainment brands, licensed franchises such as PAW Patrol continue expanding their presence in the gaming market.
Outright Games Continues Focus on Licensed Family Titles
Outright Games has built its business around family-friendly licensed games tied to popular entertainment properties.
The publisher’s catalog includes titles connected to franchises such as Peppa Pig, Justice League, Star Trek: Prodigy, and How to Train Your Dragon.
Meanwhile, Nickelodeon continues expanding the PAW Patrol franchise through television, theatrical films, merchandise, and interactive entertainment.
PAW Patrol Franchise Continues Global Expansion
Since launching in 2013, PAW Patrol has become one of the world’s most commercially successful preschool entertainment brands.
The series has generated major success through television programming, toy sales, streaming distribution, live events, and theatrical releases.
With the upcoming release of both PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie and PAW Patrol: Dino World, the franchise is continuing to expand its reach across entertainment platforms while targeting younger audiences and family gaming markets worldwide.
